كشف المركز الوطني لتنمية الحياة الفطرية أنه تمت معالجة مواقع انتشار قرود البابون بالرياض، مؤكداً أن انتشارها جاء نتيجة اقتناء غير نظامي، وحذر من خطورة تربية الكائنات الفطرية.
وقال المركز في منشور عبر حسابه على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي «X»: «إشارة إلى الفيديو المتداول عن وجود قرود البابون في بعض المواقع بمنطقة الرياض، يوضح المركز أنه باشر المواقع منذ رصد المشكلة، وتمت معالجة الجزء الأكبر، وجارٍ استكمال المعالجة».
وأضاف المركز أن الأعداد المرصودة ليست ضمن نطاق الانتشار الطبيعي لقرود البابون، وهي ناتجة عن قيام بعض الأفراد بتربيتها وإطلاقها.
وأكد المركز خطورة اقتناء الكائنات الفطرية، ودعا إلى الإبلاغ عن أي حالات مشابهة عبر الرقم الموحد: 19914.
The National Center for Wildlife Development revealed that the locations of baboon spread in Riyadh have been addressed, confirming that their spread was a result of illegal ownership, and warned about the dangers of keeping wild animals.
The center stated in a post on its social media account "X": "Referring to the circulated video about the presence of baboons in some areas of Riyadh, the center clarifies that it has addressed the sites since the problem was detected, and the majority has been dealt with, and efforts to complete the treatment are ongoing."
The center added that the observed numbers are not within the natural range of baboon spread, and are a result of some individuals keeping and releasing them.
The center emphasized the dangers of owning wild animals and called for reporting any similar cases through the unified number: 19914.
