شارك وزير الصناعة والثروة المعدنية بندر بن إبراهيم الخريّف في المؤتمر الوزاري الـ11 للدول الأقل نموّاً (LDCs)، الذي استضافته الرياض بتنظيم من منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتنمية الصناعية UNIDO بالتعاون مع الوزارة، وبحضور ممثلي الدول الأقل نموّاً في العالم.
وأكد الخريف في كلمته خلال المؤتمر أهمية تعزيز الحوار الدولي لتحقيق مستهدفات التنمية الصناعية المستدامة في الدول الأقل نموّاً، مبيناً أن المؤتمر يسهم في تعميق التعاون وتبادل الخبرات بين دول تختلف في تجاربها وطموحاتها، سعياً إلى تحقيق مصالحها المشتركة.
وأشار الخريف إلى أهمية الدول الأقل نموّاً (LDCs) وإمكاناتها الاستثنائية لفئة الشباب، من حيث الفرص المتاحة فيها للابتكار والمواهب الريادية، مشيداً بما أظهرته تلك الدول من عزيمة لافتة في مواجهة الاضطرابات العالمية والمناخية واضطرابات سلاسل الإمداد أثناء جائحة كورونا، مما جعل هذه الدول أكثر صلابة والتزاماً بالتنمية.
وبيّن أن قطاع الصناعة في مختلف دول العالم يوفر فرصاً للعمل، ويُمكّن المرأة، ويدعم نمو الأعمال المحلية، مع الحاجة إلى سلاسل إمداد مستدامة لتعزيز القدرات الإنتاجية، وضمان الأمن الغذائي في الدول الأقل نموّاً.
وتحدث الوزير الخريّف عن مؤتمر التعدين الدولي الذي تستضيفه المملكة سنويّاً ودوره في تمكين الدول الأقل نموّاً، مبيناً أن المؤتمر جمع دولاً مثل بوروندي، وتشاد، وجمهورية الكونغو الديمقراطية، وملاوي، وموريتانيا، والسودان، وتنزانيا، وتوغو، وأوغندا، وزامبيا وغيرها، بصفتها دولاً مساهمة بشكل فعّال في صياغة النقاشات المتعلقة بالاستدامة وإيجاد القيمة المضافة، وتنمية القدرات لمستقبل واعد في قطاع التعدين والمعادن بالعالم.
وقال: «مؤتمر التعدين الدولي لم يُنشأ لفرض حلول على الدول، بل ليقدم منصة تعبِّر من خلالها الدول عن رؤيتها الخاصة بكيفية استثمار مواردها المعدنية وصياغة مستقبلها الطموح».
وختم كلمته بتسليط الضوء على أهمية مؤتمر الدول الأقل نموّاً والحوار الذي يتضمنه، مشيراً إلى أن التنمية والتطوير ليست نمطاً واحداً، وليست حكراً على دولة أو فئة، بل هي حق لكل دولة لتحقيق مستهدفات التنمية الشاملة فيها، وتعزيز نمو اقتصادها وازدهاره، بما يعود بالنفع على شعوب تلك الدول.
يشار إلى أن المؤتمر الوزاري الـ11 للدول الأقل نموّاً يعد حدثاً عالميّاً بارزاً يناقش التنمية الصناعية في الدول الأقل نموّاً، ويعزز تبادل المعرفة والتقنية وتحفيز التجارة والوصول إلى التمويل في تلك الدول، كما يركز المؤتمر على تحفيز التصنيع الشامل من خلال ثلاث ركائز رئيسية تتمثل في الاستثمار والتمويل والابتكار.
Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef participated in the 11th Ministerial Conference of Least Developed Countries (LDCs), hosted in Riyadh organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in collaboration with the ministry, and attended by representatives of the least developed countries in the world.
Al-Khorayef emphasized in his speech during the conference the importance of enhancing international dialogue to achieve the goals of sustainable industrial development in the least developed countries, noting that the conference contributes to deepening cooperation and exchanging experiences among countries with different experiences and aspirations, in pursuit of achieving their common interests.
He pointed out the significance of the least developed countries (LDCs) and their exceptional potential for the youth, in terms of the opportunities available for innovation and entrepreneurial talents, praising the remarkable determination shown by these countries in facing global and climate disruptions and supply chain disturbances during the COVID-19 pandemic, which made these countries more resilient and committed to development.
He indicated that the industrial sector in various countries around the world provides job opportunities, empowers women, and supports the growth of local businesses, while there is a need for sustainable supply chains to enhance production capacities and ensure food security in the least developed countries.
Minister Al-Khorayef spoke about the International Mining Conference that the Kingdom hosts annually and its role in empowering the least developed countries, noting that the conference brought together countries such as Burundi, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Malawi, Mauritania, Sudan, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Zambia, and others, as actively contributing countries in shaping discussions related to sustainability, creating added value, and developing capacities for a promising future in the mining and minerals sector globally.
He stated: “The International Mining Conference was not created to impose solutions on countries, but to provide a platform through which countries can express their vision on how to invest their mineral resources and shape their ambitious future.”
He concluded his speech by highlighting the importance of the Least Developed Countries Conference and the dialogue it entails, pointing out that development and progress are not a one-size-fits-all approach, nor are they exclusive to any country or group, but are a right for every country to achieve its comprehensive development goals, enhance its economy, and prosper, benefiting the peoples of those countries.
It is noteworthy that the 11th Ministerial Conference of Least Developed Countries is a prominent global event discussing industrial development in the least developed countries, enhancing the exchange of knowledge and technology, stimulating trade, and accessing financing in those countries. The conference also focuses on promoting inclusive manufacturing through three main pillars represented in investment, financing, and innovation.
