أكد الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين إن روسيا أكبر مُصدر للقمح في العالم والبحرين تخططان لإنشاء مركز لتجارة القمح في الخليج العربي، جاء ذلك خلال حديثه بالمنتدى الاقتصادي في «سان بطرسبرغ» بجانب مستشار الأمن الوطني البحريني ناصر بن حمد آل خليفة أمس (الجمعة).
وقال بوتين: «نخطط مع أصدقائنا في البحرين لإنشاء مركز متكامل لتوريد القمح من روسيا، وأذكركم بأن روسيا أكبر مصدر للقمح في العالم، فالعديد من الدول في العالم العربي مهتمة جدّاً بهذا الأمر، وسنتقدم خطوة بخطوة في هذا الاتجاه».
وتعد مصر والسعودية والجزائر من أكبر مشتري القمح الروسي، الذي يُصدر من موانئ موسكو على البحر الأسود.
وغالباً ما تواجه الإمدادات المباشرة من القمح الروسي صعوبات لوجستية ومشكلات في الدفع بسبب العقوبات الغربية على الشحن والبنوك الروسية.
وقالت وزيرة الزراعة أوكسانا لوت إن روسيا تهدف إلى تصدير 45 مليون طن من القمح في موسم التسويق المقبل الذي يبدأ في أول شهر يوليو القادم، بزيادة طفيفة عن الموسم الحالي.
Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed that Russia is the largest wheat exporter in the world and that Bahrain plans to establish a wheat trading center in the Arabian Gulf. This came during his speech at the economic forum in "St. Petersburg" alongside Bahrain's National Security Advisor Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday (Friday).
Putin said, "We are planning with our friends in Bahrain to create a comprehensive center for supplying wheat from Russia. I remind you that Russia is the largest wheat exporter in the world, and many countries in the Arab world are very interested in this matter, and we will move step by step in this direction."
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Algeria are among the largest buyers of Russian wheat, which is exported from Moscow's ports on the Black Sea.
Direct supplies of Russian wheat often face logistical difficulties and payment issues due to Western sanctions on shipping and Russian banks.
Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said that Russia aims to export 45 million tons of wheat in the upcoming marketing season, which starts in early July, a slight increase from the current season.
