ندوة وفائية تستعيد سيرة المؤرخ محمد البليهشي وإرثه الثقافي
Last night, a seminar was held that was characterized by loyalty to a civil figure who left his mark on his social and humanitarian environment. Participants and attendees of the seminar recalled moments from the journey of the late historian Muhammad bin Saleh Al-Bulayshi - may Allah have mercy on him - and brought to mind his positions and contributions in history, literature, education, and his biography, which will remain present in memory despite his passing.
During the seminar, which was moderated by Dr. Abdullah Al-Suhimi in the cultural tent of Awdat Al-Baladi, the son of the late historian, Qasim bin Muhammad Al-Bulayshi, began by discussing aspects of his father's personal, literary, and educational life, presenting it as a human, scientific, and cultural experience. He reviewed the varied stages of the late scholar's life in education, literature, journalism, and authorship, and the impact he left on the lives of those who knew him, studied under him, or followed his intellectual and literary output.
Qasim Al-Bulayshi highlighted his father's early beginnings, which started in the village of Al-Mudaiq in Wadi Al-Far'a. The initial stages of his personality were shaped in a social environment characterized by simplicity, cohesion, and harmony, which contributed to building his value and humanitarian system. From that environment, his journey towards broader horizons of knowledge and learning began, moving to Medina to continue his education, in a path that reflects the importance of knowledge in building character, refining experience, and expanding human understanding.
Literarily and culturally, Qasim discussed the late scholar's diverse interests, which included writing, authorship, literature, history, and documentation, alongside his journalistic experience that allowed him to express his thoughts and positions, and address issues and topics that captured his attention. His articles formed a part of his intellectual presence, while his social relationships and humanitarian positions contributed to painting a comprehensive picture of his personality, combining an interest in the cultural and historical affairs of Medina with communication with the community.
Al-Bulayshi emphasized that reviewing this biography represents an opportunity to re-read the experience of the late scholar in its educational, literary, and cultural context, and to reflect on the stages that contributed to shaping his personality, starting from his early upbringing, through education, and reaching the fields of journalism, writing, authorship, and documentation. He also affirmed the importance of preserving cultural and social memory and documenting the experiences of figures who contributed to enriching knowledge and serving their community.
