Member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Mahmoud Al-Sobaihi, confirmed that the targeting of the Maashiq Palace in the temporary capital, Aden, by the terrorist Houthi militia, along with the resulting threat to the security of citizens and the terrorizing of residents, represents a serious escalation aimed at the security of Aden and state institutions. It reflects the militia's insistence on resorting to violence instead of adhering to the will of the Yemenis and their right to restore their state and establish its sovereignty over all Yemeni territory.
Al-Sobaihi explained, in a post published on his official account on the "X" platform today (Thursday), that this escalation comes as a result of the heavy losses suffered by the terrorist Houthi militia on the western coast fronts and in Taiz Governorate. In a desperate attempt to mix the cards and shift the confrontation to safe cities, he asserted that these attacks will not achieve the militia's goals and will not deter Yemenis from continuing their struggle to restore state institutions and end the coup.
The member of the Presidential Leadership Council emphasized that the security of the temporary capital, Aden, and the safety of its people is a national responsibility that cannot be neglected, and that targeting civilian objects and endangering the lives of citizens is unacceptable. It necessitates taking the necessary measures to protect residents and hold accountable those responsible for these attacks in accordance with the law.
Regarding the situation in Taiz and the heroic steadfastness of its people, Al-Sobaihi said: "Taiz will not be alone, and it will remain present in the hearts of every Yemeni. We will stand by its people with all we have," expressing his high appreciation for its resilience and the heroism of its sons in facing the siege and the brutal Houthi aggression.
He praised the courage of the heroes of the Yemeni armed forces in their various formations, from the western coast fronts to Taiz, and what they offer in terms of great sacrifices in defense of the homeland and the dignity of its people. He valued the national stances of the people of Al-Sobaih, including elders and youth, in standing by the armed forces and confronting the terrorist Houthi militia.
Al-Sobaihi concluded his post by affirming that the sacrifices of the Yemeni people will remain a source of strength and steadfastness in confronting the terrorist Houthi project, and that the will of the Yemenis will continue toward restoring state institutions and asserting its sovereignty over all Yemeni territory, establishing security and stability, and preserving the dignity of citizens. He emphasized that these attacks will not diminish the determination to move forward toward achieving the goals.
