تُوفّيت الممثلة الأمريكية ديان كيتون الحائزة جائزة أوسكار سنة 1978 عن دورها في فيلم «آني هول»، في كاليفورنيا عن 79 عاماً، بحسب ما قال أمس (السبت) متحدث باسم العائلة لمجلّة «بيبول».
ولم تقدّم بعد أيّ تفاصيل عن سبب الوفاة، وفق ما أوردت المجلّة.
بدأت كيتون مسيرتها الحافلة بالأعمال السينمائية سنة 1970 بفيلم «لافرز أند آذر سترانجرز». وشاركت في سلسلة أفلام «العرّاب» مؤدية دور زوجة آل باتشينو. كما شاركت في عدّة أعمال لوودي آلن الذي بقيت تربطها به علاقة صداقة بعدما كانت لفترة طويلة شريكته وملهمته وممثّلته المفضّلة.
وبفضل دورها الرئيسي في «آني هول»، نالت جائزة أوسكار أفضل ممثّلة سنة 1978.
ورُشّحت لثلاث جوائز أخرى عن «ريدز» الذي عرض في الصالات سنة 1981 و«مارفنز روم» (1996) و«سامثينغز غوت تو غيف» (2003).
وبقيت تؤدّي أدواراً في أفلام بعد تخطّيها السبعين من العمر. وشاركت خصوصاً في «بوك كلوب» (2018) وأدّت دور متقاعدة، و«بومز» سنة 2019.
وقالت ديان كيتون في مقابلة مع وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية إنها لا تفكّر في الاعتزال أو الشيخوخة.
وصرّحت «حتّى إن لم يعد أحد يتّصل بي (لتأدية الأدوار)، لدي الكثير من الانشغالات لأملأ بها وقتي».
وأكّدت كيتون التي لم تتزوّج وتبّنت ولدين أنها لا تندم على شيء في حياتها، بما في ذلك على الصعيد الشخصي.
وقالت الممثّلة التي ربطتها علاقات عاطفية طويلة بنجوم مختلفين «أظن أنني من النساء العزباوات النادرات في عمري اللواتي شاركن في أفلام من دون أن يكن متزوّجات. وقد أكون استثناء عن القاعدة»، مؤكّدة «لست تعيسة».
وكان آخر أدوارها في السينما مع فيلم «سامر كامب» سنة 2024.
American actress Diane Keaton, who won an Oscar in 1978 for her role in the film "Annie Hall," passed away in California at the age of 79, according to a family spokesperson who spoke to People magazine yesterday (Saturday).
No details have yet been provided regarding the cause of death, as reported by the magazine.
Keaton began her illustrious film career in 1970 with the film "Lovers and Other Strangers." She starred in the "Godfather" series, playing Al Pacino's wife. She also participated in several works with Woody Allen, with whom she maintained a friendship after being his partner, muse, and favorite actress for a long time.
Thanks to her leading role in "Annie Hall," she won the Oscar for Best Actress in 1978.
She was nominated for three other awards for "Reds," which was released in theaters in 1981, "Marvin's Room" (1996), and "Something's Gotta Give" (2003).
She continued to perform in films after turning seventy. She notably appeared in "Book Club" (2018), playing the role of a retiree, and "Poms" in 2019.
Diane Keaton stated in an interview with Agence France-Presse that she does not think about retirement or aging.
She declared, "Even if no one calls me anymore (to perform roles), I have plenty of activities to fill my time."
Keaton, who never married and adopted two children, affirmed that she has no regrets about anything in her life, including on a personal level.
The actress, who had long romantic relationships with various stars, said, "I think I am one of the rare single women my age who have participated in films without being married. I may be an exception to the rule," emphasizing, "I am not unhappy."
Her last film role was in "Summer Camp" in 2024.
