حصلت مغنية البوب بيلي إيليش، أمس (الإثنين)، على جائزة «فنانة العام» التي تعد أعلى جائزة في حفل توزيع جوائز الموسيقى الأمريكية، في احتفال أقيم بمدينة لاس فيجاس.
وتفوقت إيليش في هذه الفئة على كل من تيلور سويفت، وكندريك لامار، وسابرينا كاربنتر، ومورجان والين، ومرشحين آخرين، كما حصدت الجوائز في جميع الفئات السبع التي رُشحت لها، والتي كان منها ألبوم العام، وأفضل فنان يجري جولات.
وقالت إيليش، في رسالة مصورة من أوروبا حيث تجري جولة غنائية: «هذا أمر جنوني. أشعر بأنني عاجزة عن التعبير... أتمنى لو كنت هناك الليلة».
وأصدرت إيليش (23 عاماً) ألبومها الثالث الذي سجلته في ستوديو «هيت مي هارد آند سوفت» في مايو 2024.
وحصلت المغنية إس.زي.إيه، على جائزتين من جوائز الموسيقى الأمريكية، هما أفضل فنانة في فئة موسيقى الآر.آند.بي، وأفضل أغنية في نفس فئة الموسيقى، وهي «ساتورن»، كما جرى اختيار بيكي جي أفضل فنانة لاتينية.
وغاب عن حضور الحفل، الذي جرى بثه مباشرة على قناة CBS من فندق فونتينبلو في لاس فيجاس، كثير من النجوم البارزين، إذ غابت بيونسيه عن الحفل، لكنها فازت بجائزتي أفضل فنانة في موسيقى الريف وأفضل ألبوم لموسيقى الريف عن ألبومها «كاوبوي كارتر» وهو أول فوز تحققه في فئة موسيقى الريف ضمن حفل توزيع جوائز الموسيقى الأمريكية.
ومن بين المغنيين الغائبين الآخرين، تايلور سويفت، وكندريك لامار الذي كان يتصدر قائمة المتنافسين بـ 10 ترشيحات، لكنه نال جائزة واحدة عن أغنيته Not Like Us وهي من موسيقى الهيب هوب.
وافتتحت المغنية جينيفر لوبيز، مقدمة الحفل، الاحتفالات بعروض الغناء والرقص على أنغام مزيج مدته 6 دقائق من 23 أغنية ناجحة للمرشحين، من بينها BIRDS OF A FEATHER لبيلي إيليش، وEspresso لسابرينا كاربنتر، وTexas Hold 'Em لبيونسيه.
وشهد الحفل تكريم المغنية الأمريكية جانيت جاكسون، بمنحها جائزة الأيقونة، وهي جائزة تمنح للفنانين الذين لهم تأثير عالمي.
وقالت جاكسون على المسرح: «لا أعتبر نفسي أيقونة. كل ما أتمناه هو أن أكون مصدر إلهام للآخرين ليحققوا أحلامهم وينجحوا».
وحصل المغني بوست مالون على جائزة فنان موسيقى الريف المفضل.
وتسلم مغني البوب رود ستيوارت، البالغ من العمر 80 عاماً، جائزة الإنجاز مدى الحياة، ورقص وغنى على أنغام أغنيته Forever Young التي أصدرها في 1984.
وقال ستيوارت إنه عندما بدأ مسيرته الفنية كان لديه «طموح ملح للغناء».
وأضاف: «هذا كل ما أردته. لم أرد أن أصبح ثرياً أو مشهوراً».
Pop singer Billie Eilish won the "Artist of the Year" award yesterday (Monday), which is the highest honor at the American Music Awards, in a ceremony held in Las Vegas.
Eilish outperformed competitors in this category including Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, and other nominees. She also won awards in all seven categories she was nominated for, including Album of the Year and Best Touring Artist.
Eilish, in a video message from Europe where she is on a concert tour, said: "This is crazy. I feel like I can't express... I wish I were there tonight."
The 23-year-old Eilish released her third album, recorded at the "Hit Me Hard and Soft" studio, in May 2024.
Singer SZA won two American Music Awards, for Best Female Artist in the R&B category and Best Song in the same music category, for her song "Satin." Becky G was named Best Latin Artist.
Many prominent stars were absent from the ceremony, which was broadcast live on CBS from the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas. Beyoncé was missing from the event, but she won two awards for Best Female Artist in Country Music and Best Country Album for her album "Cowboy Carter," marking her first win in the country music category at the American Music Awards.
Among other absent singers were Taylor Swift and Kendrick Lamar, who led the nominations with 10 but only won one award for his song Not Like Us, which is in the hip-hop genre.
Host Jennifer Lopez opened the celebrations with singing and dancing performances to a 6-minute medley of 23 hit songs from the nominees, including BIRDS OF A FEATHER by Billie Eilish, Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter, and Texas Hold 'Em by Beyoncé.
The ceremony honored American singer Janet Jackson with the Icon Award, which is given to artists who have a global impact.
Jackson said on stage: "I don't consider myself an icon. All I hope for is to be an inspiration for others to achieve their dreams and succeed."
Singer Post Malone received the Favorite Country Music Artist award.
80-year-old pop singer Rod Stewart received the Lifetime Achievement Award and danced and sang to his song Forever Young, which he released in 1984.
Stewart said that when he started his artistic career, he had a "burning ambition to sing."
He added: "That's all I wanted. I didn't want to become rich or famous."
