هاجم المخرج السوري سيف الدين السبيعي، قرار نقابة الفنانين في سورية بسحب العضوية عن مجموعة جديدة من الفنانين، مؤكداً أن أعضاء المجلس المركزي يتم انتخابهم بالمؤتمر العام، ولا يتم فصلهم إلا بالمؤتمر العام أيضاً.
وأكد خلال ظهوره في لقاء ببرنامج «استوديو العرب» بأن القرارات التي يتخذها مجلس النقابة الحالي غير قانونية؛ لأنه مجلس غير منتخب، مشيراً إلى أن النقابة والمجلس الحالي تقتصر مهمته على التحضير لقانون مجلس النقابة الجديد، بما يعيد للنقابة شكل العمل النقابي للقيام بدورها بالوقوف إلى جانب الفنانين.
وأضاف، تكمن الأزمة في النقابة وليس بالأشخاص، مشيرا إلى أن الحل يكمن في استعادة النقابة لدورها الحقيقي بأن تصبح مؤسسة للفنانين، لرعايتهم والدفاع عنهم، وليس مؤسسة تمنح شهادة الوطنية لأشخاص وتقوم بسحبها من آخرين.
The Syrian director Saif Al-Din Al-Sabiee criticized the decision of the Artists' Syndicate in Syria to revoke the membership of a new group of artists, asserting that the members of the central council are elected at the general conference and can only be dismissed at the general conference as well.
He confirmed during his appearance in an interview on the program "Studio Al-Arab" that the decisions made by the current syndicate council are illegal; because it is an unelected council, pointing out that the syndicate and the current council are limited to preparing for the new Syndicate Council law, which aims to restore the syndicate's role in supporting artists.
He added that the crisis lies within the syndicate, not with the individuals, indicating that the solution lies in restoring the syndicate to its true role as an institution for artists, to care for and defend them, rather than being an institution that grants certificates of nationality to some and revokes them from others.
