Raghdan is not just a village on the map of the homeland; it is a place that resides in the heart before it resides in memory. There, I lived the most beautiful years of my life, and on its land, stories were born that still pulse with life whenever its name crosses my mind.
I miss Raghdan because it holds the face of my mother, may God have mercy on her. There, our mornings began with the aroma of bread wafting from her hands, and around the breakfast table, love gathered us before food. In its quiet nights, the moonlight added warmth to the place, as if every corner held something of her smile and tenderness.
My mother has passed away, but her impact remains. The walls of our old house still echo with her laughter, and the details of the place evoke her presence, until her memory became part of Raghdan's identity in my heart. I cannot mention the village without my mother coming to mind, nor can I recall my mother without Raghdan returning with all its details.
Raghdan was—and still is—a model of natural beauty and human intimacy. Its people are known for their love and solidarity, and simplicity was the hallmark of their lives, strengthening the bonds of neighborliness, as hearts shared joys and sorrows, turning the village into one family united by affection before kinship.
With the passing of the years, Raghdan witnessed significant urban and developmental growth, yet it did not abandon its authentic spirit. Its enchanting nature, the tranquility of its atmosphere, and the fragrance of its heritage grant its visitors a rare feeling of serenity, making it one of the most beautiful destinations in the Al-Baha region and deeply connected to memory.
Despite the changing times, some places are too great to be altered by time. For me, Raghdan is one of those places; it is not just a village, but a small homeland that embraces my childhood, holds my happiest days, and preserves my dearest memories.
The longing for it will continue to renew with the passage of time, and it is enough for me that it holds my beloved mother in its soil, may God have mercy on her. There, I left a piece of my heart, and there I realized that places have souls, and the spirit of Raghdan will always dwell within me as long as I live.
