What is happening in Gaza is a complete and unprecedented humanitarian crime in the modern history of the world, which is supposed to have legal frameworks that protect innocent civilian lives from the brutality and oppression that reaches the point of depriving them of food, water, and medicine. The whole world has been watching for a long time what the Israeli occupation army is doing to the displaced people of Gaza, but unfortunately, it seems that what is happening is not enough to awaken the dormant consciences that constitute the most heinous complicity with a brutal military machine, run by a gang that practices all its atrocities with complete freedom.
Famine, in its literal definition, has reached an unprecedented level in Gaza, as the occupation army prevents food from reaching everyone without exception. It even fires live bullets at the desperate who are scrambling to get a sip of soup or a piece of bread. The number of deaths among the hungry is increasing every day, and those who are not killed by bullets during the scramble for a morsel and a sip of water die in the open from hunger and dehydration. Medical sources from what remains of the functioning hospitals in Gaza confirm that the dead from famine are multiplying in a way that defies imagination; relief organizations have long warned of the anticipated famine due to the Israeli army's obstruction of aid. The World Health Organization confirmed two days ago the army's repeated storming of its main warehouse and the detention of its staff to prevent the afflicted from receiving food and medicine. All of this is happening while attention is diverted to the stalled ceasefire negotiations, the political debates, and the vile bickering of the Israeli side.
A ceasefire for whom if the people concerned are gradually perishing from bullets and starvation? And when have starving skeletons posed a threat to heavily armed soldiers equipped with the latest deadly weapons for this extermination of an unarmed people to continue, whose children and elders are dying due to a starvation siege accompanied by bursts of machine gun fire? The ceasefire negotiations, merely a ceasefire, have not reached any result so far, so what about an agreement to stop the fire and the possibility of establishing peace? This is what Israel wants to continue its extermination of the people of Gaza, and linking the cessation of extermination to any political process is a crime in itself, for which not only Israel but all the international sponsors who watch the reports of death in its most horrific forms from Gaza every day bear responsibility.
