أكد المرشد الإيراني علي خامنئي أن الحشد العسكري الأمريكي في المنطقة، لن يستطيع القضاء على بلاده.
وقال خامنئي خلال لقائه مع جمع أهالي أذربيجان الشرقية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، إنه «حتى أقوى جيش في العالم قد يتلقى صفعة تجعله عاجزاً عن النهوض»، في إشارة إلى الجيش الأمريكي.
واعتبر أن «الأخطر من حاملة الطائرات هو السلاح القادر على ضربها في قاع البحر»، في تلميح إلى قدرة بلاده على استهداف تلك الحاملات من تحت المياه.
وأضاف خامنئي: «يبدو أن الرئيس الأمريكي يكرر باستمرار أن جيشه هو الأقوى في العالم.. لكن قد يتلقى أقوى جيش في العالم أحياناً صفعة تجعله عاجزا عن النهوض».
ولفت إلى أن ترمب «أقر في أحد تصريحاته الأخيرة أن بلاده لم تتمكن طوال 47 عاماً من القضاء على إيران، واصفا هذا الاعتراف بأنه جيد». وأضاف «أنا أقول لن تستطيع أنت أيضاً القيام بذلك».
وحول المفاوضات النووية الجارية في جنيف، أكد خامنئي أن استباق نتائجها «أمر خاطئ وأحمق».
وكان ترمب أعلن أخيرا أن بلاده أرسلت حاملة طائرات ثانية إلى المنطقة لتنضم إلى أبراهام لنكولن التي تتواجد في بحر العرب.
وكرر مساء أمس تحذيراته لطهران، من عواقب وخيمة إذا لم تتوصل إلى اتفاق، خلال الجولة الجديدة من المحادثات التي انطلقت بين البلدين بشأن البرنامج النووي.
فيما أفاد الجانب الإيراني بأنه يفاوض بمقترحات بناءة وجادة، إلا أنه أوضح أنه لن يقدم أي تنازلات في المجال الدفاعي أو تحت الضغط، مشدداً على سعيه إلى رفع العقوبات الغربية عن البلاد.
يذكر أن الجانبين كانا عقدا في مسقط يوم السادس من فبراير الجاري، جولة أولى من محادثات النووي، وصفت حينها بالإيجابية.

Khamenei said during his meeting with a group of people from East Azerbaijan today (Tuesday) that "even the strongest army in the world can receive a slap that renders it unable to rise," referring to the American army.
He considered that "more dangerous than an aircraft carrier is the weapon capable of striking it at the bottom of the sea," hinting at his country's ability to target those carriers from underwater.
Khamenei added: "It seems that the American president continuously repeats that his army is the strongest in the world... but even the strongest army in the world can sometimes receive a slap that makes it unable to rise."
He pointed out that Trump "acknowledged in one of his recent statements that his country has not been able to eliminate Iran for 47 years, describing this acknowledgment as good." He added, "I say you will not be able to do that either."
Regarding the ongoing nuclear negotiations in Geneva, Khamenei confirmed that anticipating their results is "a wrong and foolish thing."
Recently, Trump announced that his country had sent a second aircraft carrier to the region to join the Abraham Lincoln, which is located in the Arabian Sea.
He reiterated last night his warnings to Tehran of dire consequences if it does not reach an agreement during the new round of talks that have started between the two countries regarding the nuclear program.
While the Iranian side stated that it is negotiating with constructive and serious proposals, it clarified that it will not make any concessions in the defense field or under pressure, emphasizing its pursuit to lift Western sanctions on the country.
It is worth mentioning that the two sides held the first round of nuclear talks in Muscat on February 6, which were described at the time as positive.
