استضاف مسرح «حديث كتاب» في معرض الرياض الدولي للكتاب 2025، الذي تنظمه هيئة الأدب والنشر والترجمة في جامعة الأميرة نورة بنت عبدالرحمن، الكاتب والباحث في تاريخ الأديان والحضارات سلطان الموسى، للحديث عن روايته «بنت الرسول»، التي تتناول رحلة الهجرة الأولى إلى الحبشة من خلال سيرة السيدة رقية بنت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وزوجها عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه.
واستهل الموسى حديثه موضحا الدافع وراء تأليف الرواية، مبينا أن العمل جاء استجابة لرغبةٍ في إعادة تسليط الضوء على شخصياتٍ نسائية مؤثرة في التاريخ الإسلامي لم تنل ما تستحقه من اهتمام، مؤكدا أن رقية بنت الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم تمثل نموذجا خالدا في الصبر والإيمان والتضحية.
وأشار إلى أن الرواية تمزج بين السرد الأدبي والتوثيق التاريخي، وتستعرض مشاعر الغربة والحنين التي صاحبت المهاجرين إلى الحبشة، إلى جانب إبراز العلاقات السياسية والثقافية التي ربطت العرب بالأحباش في تلك المرحلة المبكرة من التاريخ الإسلامي، موضحا أن النص الأدبي يمكن أن يفتح نوافذ جديدة لفهم الوقائع التاريخية من منظور إنساني.
وتحدث عن التحديات البحثية التي واجهها أثناء إعداد الرواية، مؤكدا أنه اعتمد على مراجع عربيةٍ وإثيوبية للوصول إلى قراءةٍ متوازنة للأحداث، تسعى إلى تصوير التفاعل الحضاري بين المنطقتين في تلك الحقبة بروحٍ موضوعية دقيقة.
واختتم حديثه بأن الأدب قادرٌ على أن يكون جسرا لإحياء الوعي بالتاريخ الإسلامي الإنساني، وإبراز أبعاده الروحية والاجتماعية، مشيدا بتفاعل الحضور واهتمامهم بتفاصيل القصة وسياقها الفكري، بوصفها تجربة تمزج بين البحث الأكاديمي والرؤية الأدبية.

The "Book Talk" theater at the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025, organized by the Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority at Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, hosted writer and researcher in the history of religions and civilizations Sultan Al-Mousa to discuss his novel "The Prophet's Daughter," which addresses the first migration to Abyssinia through the biography of Lady Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and her husband, Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him).
Al-Mousa began his talk by explaining the motivation behind writing the novel, indicating that the work came in response to a desire to shed light on influential female figures in Islamic history who have not received the attention they deserve, affirming that Ruqayyah, the Prophet's daughter (peace be upon him), represents a timeless model of patience, faith, and sacrifice.
He pointed out that the novel blends literary narration with historical documentation, showcasing the feelings of alienation and longing experienced by the migrants to Abyssinia, as well as highlighting the political and cultural relationships that connected the Arabs with the Abyssinians during that early stage of Islamic history, clarifying that literary texts can open new windows for understanding historical events from a human perspective.
He discussed the research challenges he faced while preparing the novel, emphasizing that he relied on Arab and Ethiopian references to achieve a balanced reading of the events, aiming to depict the cultural interaction between the two regions during that era with an accurate objective spirit.
He concluded his talk by stating that literature can serve as a bridge to revive awareness of the human Islamic history and highlight its spiritual and social dimensions, praising the audience's engagement and interest in the details of the story and its intellectual context, describing it as an experience that combines academic research with literary vision.
It is worth mentioning that the Riyadh International Book Fair 2025 is held under the slogan "Riyadh Reads," aiming to enhance the passion for reading and knowledge among various segments of society, encourage culture and creativity, and provide opportunities for readers to interact with authors and creators, within a national vision that seeks to enrich the literary and intellectual scene in the Kingdom.
