أكدت وزارة الخارجية السورية اليوم (الأحد)، عقد وفد سوري رفيع المستوى برئاسة وزير الخارجية أسعد الشيباني اجتماعاً مع وفد إسرائيلي رفيع المستوى في الأردن لمناقشة خفض التصعيد.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء السورية «سانا» عن مصدر مسؤول في الوزارة تأكيده أن الاجتماع تم بوساطة أمريكية واستضافة أردنية، في إطار الجهود الرامية إلى خفض التصعيد في أعقاب القصف الإسرائيلي الأخير للأراضي السورية وتصاعد التوترات في جنوب سورية، ودعم الاستقرار في سورية والمنطقة.
وأوضح المصدر أن المناقشات تركزت على وضع آليات عملية لوقف الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية وعمليات الاعتقال والاستهداف، وإحياء مسار التفاوض بهدف التوصل إلى اتفاق أمني يمكن أن يشكل أساساً لاتفاق مستقبلي أكثر شمولاً.
وأشار إلى أن الجانب السوري أكد أن سورية دولة ذات سيادة، ولها كامل الحق في إعادة بناء جيشها الوطني وتطويره، وتحديد تحالفاتها وشراكاتها بما يتوافق مع مصالحها الوطنية، مبيناً أن الوفد السوري أكد أنه لن يقبل بأي ترتيبات أو آليات من شأنها تقييد هذه الحقوق السيادية.
وجددت سورية التأكيد على موقفها بأن الجولان المحتل أرض سورية، مع الإشارة إلى أن مناقشة وضعه النهائي والمسار المؤدي إلى ذلك لا تزال سابقة لأوانها في المرحلة الراهنة، وتتمثل الأولوية المباشرة في انسحاب القوات الإسرائيلية إلى خطوط ما قبل ديسمبر 2024، وإعادة تفعيل اتفاق فض الاشتباك لعام 1974 وتنفيذه بالكامل.
وذكر المصدر أن المناقشات تناولت أيضاً أهمية دعم استقرار سورية والحفاظ على أمن المنطقة، بما في ذلك الجهود الرامية إلى تقريب وجهات النظر بين تركيا وإسرائيل، وضمان عدم انعكاس التوتر القائم بين البلدين على الأراضي السورية.
ولفت المصدر إلى أن الاجتماع ركز على اتخاذ خطوات عملية لخفض التصعيد، بالتوازي مع بحث سبل العودة إلى مسار التفاوض، مع تأكيد سورية أن أي ترتيبات أمنية يجب أن تحترم سيادتها ووحدة أراضيها وحقوقها السيادية.
وكان مصدران مطلعان قالا لموقع «أكسيوس» إن مسؤولين سوريين وإسرائيليين رفيعي المستوى عقدوا اجتماعاً (الأحد) في محاولة لخفض التوتر بين البلدين بعد الغارة الإسرائيلية الأخيرة على قاعدة أبو الظهور الجوية السورية.
وذكرت المصادر أن وزير الخارجية السوري أسعد الشيباني التقى مدير جهاز الموساد الإسرائيلي رومان غوفمان في اجتماع جاء بعد أيام من الضربة التي رفعت منسوب التوتر بين دمشق وتل أبيب.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed today (Sunday) that a high-level Syrian delegation headed by Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaybani held a meeting with a high-level Israeli delegation in Jordan to discuss de-escalation.
The Syrian news agency "SANA" reported a responsible source in the ministry confirming that the meeting took place with American mediation and Jordanian hosting, as part of efforts aimed at reducing tensions following the recent Israeli bombardment of Syrian territory and the escalation of tensions in southern Syria, and to support stability in Syria and the region.
The source explained that discussions focused on establishing practical mechanisms to stop Israeli aggressions, arrests, and targeting, and reviving the negotiation track with the aim of reaching a security agreement that could serve as a basis for a more comprehensive future agreement.
The source indicated that the Syrian side affirmed that Syria is a sovereign state, with the full right to rebuild and develop its national army, and to determine its alliances and partnerships in accordance with its national interests, noting that the Syrian delegation emphasized that it would not accept any arrangements or mechanisms that would restrict these sovereign rights.
Syria reiterated its position that the occupied Golan is Syrian land, pointing out that discussing its final status and the path leading to it is still premature at this stage, with the immediate priority being the withdrawal of Israeli forces to pre-December 2024 lines, and the full activation and implementation of the 1974 disengagement agreement.
The source mentioned that discussions also addressed the importance of supporting Syria's stability and maintaining regional security, including efforts to bridge views between Turkey and Israel, and ensuring that the existing tensions between the two countries do not reflect on Syrian territory.
The source noted that the meeting focused on taking practical steps to de-escalate, alongside discussing ways to return to the negotiation track, with Syria affirming that any security arrangements must respect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and sovereign rights.
Two informed sources told Axios that high-level Syrian and Israeli officials held a meeting (on Sunday) in an attempt to reduce tensions between the two countries following the recent Israeli strike on the Abu al-Duhur airbase in Syria.
The sources reported that Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaybani met with Israeli Mossad Director Roman Gofman in a meeting that came days after the strike that heightened tensions between Damascus and Tel Aviv.
