أعلنت الأمم المتحدة انتخاب المملكة العربية السعودية ممثلةً في الهيئة العامة للإحصاء رئيساً مشاركاً لمجموعة عمل حوْكَمة البيانات التابعة للجنة الإحصائية بالأمم المتحدة بقيادة رئيس الهيئة فهد الدوسري، وذلك في خطوة تعكس التقدير الدولي المتنامي لدور المملكة الرائد في مجال التحول الرقمي وتطوير السياسات المرتبطة بحوْكَمة البيانات الإحصائية والإحصاءات الرسمية.
ويأتي هذا الإعلان في إطار التزام المملكة بدعم الجهود الدولية ومواصلة العمل مع الشركاء الدوليين لبناء مستقبل رقمي آمن وموثوق، يُسهم في رفع ثقة المجتمع الدولي، وتوفير إحصاءات دقيقة تدعم السياسات التنموية وصناعة القرار وفق مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
وتُعد هذه المجموعة منصة دولية وأداة مركزية للتنسيق الدولي في ما يخص حوْكَمة البيانات، إذ تُسهم المجموعة في وضع مصطلحات مشتركة حول حوْكَمة البيانات وتسهيل تبادل الممارسات والخبرات الوطنية على المستويين الإقليمي والعالمي، ووضع إطار استرشاديٍّ لتطوير التنظيم واستخدام مصادر البيانات، بما يُعزز الشفافية ويخدم أهداف التنمية المستدامة، وتطوير المبادئ الأساسية والاستفادة من المبادرات القائمة في تحديد المبادئ العالمية والإقليمية لحوْكَمة البيانات، وإمكانية تطبيقها على البيانات والإحصاءات الرسمية.
وستُسهم عضوية المملكة في تعزيز بيئة بيانات إحصائية عالمية آمنة وموثوقة، ودفع عجلة الابتكار، وتمكين المجتمعات من الاستفادة القصوى من قيمتها في دعم التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، وصياغة المعايير والسياسات الدولية لحوْكَمة البيانات، إضافة إلى الاستفادة من تبادل أحدث الممارسات الدولية، وتطوير مبادرات تعزز الابتكار والتعاون بين الدول الأعضاء.
يشار إلى أن مجموعة عمل حوْكَمة البيانات تم إنشاؤها هذا العام، وقد عقدت اجتماعها الأول بمشاركة رئيس الهيئة العامة للإحصاء فهد الدوسري بصفته رئيساً مشاركاً، وذلك لمناقشة الإطار الزمني لعمل المجموعة، وأدوارها ومهماتها الأساسية.
The United Nations announced the election of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Authority for Statistics, as a co-chair of the Data Governance Working Group under the United Nations Statistical Commission, led by the Authority's President, Fahd Al-Dosari. This step reflects the growing international appreciation for the Kingdom's leading role in digital transformation and the development of policies related to the governance of statistical data and official statistics.
This announcement comes as part of the Kingdom's commitment to supporting international efforts and continuing to work with international partners to build a secure and reliable digital future, which contributes to enhancing the confidence of the international community and providing accurate statistics that support developmental policies and decision-making in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
This group serves as an international platform and a central tool for international coordination regarding data governance. The group contributes to establishing common terminology around data governance and facilitating the exchange of national practices and experiences at both regional and global levels, as well as developing a guiding framework for organizing and using data sources, thereby enhancing transparency and serving the goals of sustainable development. It also aims to develop fundamental principles and leverage existing initiatives to define global and regional principles for data governance and their applicability to official data and statistics.
The Kingdom's membership will contribute to enhancing a secure and reliable global statistical data environment, driving innovation, and enabling communities to maximize their value in supporting economic and social development. It will also help in formulating international standards and policies for data governance, in addition to benefiting from the exchange of the latest international practices and developing initiatives that promote innovation and cooperation among member states.
It is worth noting that the Data Governance Working Group was established this year and held its first meeting with the participation of the President of the General Authority for Statistics, Fahd Al-Dosari, in his capacity as co-chair, to discuss the timeline for the group's work, its roles, and its core tasks.
