ودع عبدالله الأسطا منصبه كمدير تنفيذي لكرة القدم بنادي الشباب بعد أن تولى المهمة عام 2023 عوضاً عن طلال آل الشيخ آنذاك.
إذ غرد الأسطا عبر حسابه بمنصة إكس: «كنت وما زلت وسأظل ابناً من أبناء كبير العاصمة، والوفاء له باقٍ ما بقي النبض، أتمنى التوفيق لرئيس النادي المكلف الأستاذ خليف الهويشان في مهمته، فهو رجل يعمل بإخلاص وتفانٍ، واضعاً مصلحة النادي فوق كل اعتبار، ومجسداً روح العاشق والمسؤول». وأضاف: «كما أتمنى التوفيق لأخي العزيز الدكتور محمد الناصر، المدير التنفيذي لكرة القدم، فـ«أبو فراس» يتمتع بكفاءة عالية ورؤية إدارية طموحة، وأراهن على نجاحه بثقة تامة لما يملكه من فكر واحترافية، وبدعم ووقفة الأمير عبدالرحمن بن تركي، سيعود الفريق ـ بإذن الله ـ إلى مكانه الطبيعي على منصات التتويج، منافساً على الذهب كما عهدناه.. فهذا هو الموقع الحقيقي لليث».
واختتم بقوله: «حان الآن موعد العودة للمدرج.. لتشجيع الليوث والوقوف خلفهم في كل خطوة، فكبير العاصمة يستحق أن نكون معه دائماً، في كل زمان ومكان».
Abdullah Al-Oshta bid farewell to his position as the Executive Director of Football at Al-Shabab Club after taking on the role in 2023, succeeding Talal Al-Sheikh at that time.
Al-Oshta tweeted through his account on X: "I was, and still am, and will always be a son of the great capital, and loyalty to it remains as long as there is a heartbeat. I wish success to the appointed club president, Mr. Khalif Al-Huwaishan, in his mission, as he is a man who works with sincerity and dedication, placing the club's interests above all else, embodying the spirit of a lover and a responsible person." He added: "I also wish success to my dear brother, Dr. Mohammed Al-Nasser, the Executive Director of Football, as 'Abu Firas' possesses high competence and an ambitious administrative vision. I bet on his success with complete confidence due to his intellect and professionalism, and with the support and backing of Prince Abdulrahman bin Turki, the team will, God willing, return to its rightful place on the podiums of victory, competing for gold as we have known it... this is the true position of the lion."
He concluded by saying: "Now is the time to return to the stands... to cheer for the lions and stand behind them at every step, for the great capital deserves that we always be with it, at all times and places."
