ضرب زلزال بحري بقوة 7.8 درجات شرق إندونيسيا، فيما صدر تحذير من احتمال حدوث «موجات تسونامي خطيرة» في نطاق ألف كيلومتر من مركز الزلزال.
وقالت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية إن الزلزال، وقع في بحر مولوكا عند الساعة 06:48 بالتوقيت المحلي صباح الخميس.
وأصدر مركز التحذير من التسونامي في المحيط الهادئ ومقره هاواي إنذارا من حدوث موجات تسونامي خطيرة «في نطاق ألف كيلومتر من مركز الزلزال» على طول سواحل إندونيسيا والفلبين وماليزيا.
A maritime earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 struck east of Indonesia, while a warning was issued for the possibility of "dangerous tsunami waves" within a thousand kilometers of the earthquake's center.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the earthquake occurred in the Molucca Sea at 06:48 local time on Thursday morning.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, based in Hawaii, issued a warning of dangerous tsunami waves "within a thousand kilometers of the earthquake's center" along the coasts of Indonesia, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
