تحولت واقعة دهس بدت للوهلة الأولى حادثة مرورية عادية في الهند إلى قضية جنائية معقدة، بعدما كشفت التحقيقات عن مخطط مزعوم لقتل رجل وإخفاء الجريمة تحت ستار حادثة فرار.
وبدأت القصة عندما لقي رجل يبلغ من العمر 42 عامًا مصرعه أثناء ممارسته رياضة المشي صباحًا، فيما أبلغت زوجته الشرطة بأن سيارة مجهولة صدمته ولاذت بالفرار. إلا أن مراجعة تسجيلات كاميرات المراقبة أثارت شكوك المحققين بعدما أظهرت تحركات غير اعتيادية للسيارة قبل وقوع الحادث.
ومع التوسع في التحقيقات، توصلت الشرطة إلى خيوط قادت إلى اتهام الزوجة وعشيقها إلى جانب آخرين بالتورط في التخطيط للحادثة، على خلفية علاقة نشأت بينهما قبل أشهر.
