أجبرت حرائق غابات اشتعلت في مدينة سالونيكا، ثاني أكبر مدينة في اليونان، السكان على إخلاء منازلهم.
وذكرت خدمة الإطفاء اليونانية، في بيان، أن الحريق الهائل سريع الانتشار اندلع أمس (السبت)، في وادٍ بمنطقة جبلية بالقرب من ضاحية أوريوكاسترو، إذ تم إبلاغ سكان ثلاث ضواحٍ صغيرة شمال مدينة سالونيكا الواقعة شمالي البلاد، بإخلاء منازلهم.
وأضاف البيان، أنه تم إلقاء القبض على رجل للاشتباه به في إشعاله الحريق.
Wildfires that broke out in the city of Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece, forced residents to evacuate their homes.
The Greek fire service stated in a statement that the massive, rapidly spreading fire broke out yesterday (Saturday) in a valley in a mountainous area near the suburb of Oreokastro, where residents of three small suburbs north of Thessaloniki, located in the northern part of the country, were notified to evacuate their homes.
The statement added that a man was arrested on suspicion of starting the fire.
