في مشهدٍ أثار حالة من الذعر بين السائقين، تحوّل طريق حيوي في منطقة رومية بلبنان إلى مسرحٍ للفوضى، إذ تعرضت عشرات السيارات لهجومٍ مفاجئ بالحجارة، مما أدى إلى تهشيم زجاجها وتعريض حياة الركاب لخطرٍ حقيقي في دقائق معدودة.
بدأت الواقعة عندما لاحظ السائقون شخصاً يتربص بالسيارات المارة، يندفع نحوها بقوة ويلقي الحجارة بشكل عشوائي وهستيري. مقطع فيديو انتشر كالنار في الهشيم على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، موثقاً حالة الرعب التي عاشها المواطنون، ومسلطاً الضوء على «سلوك غامض» دفع الجميع للتساؤل: ما الذي يدفع شخصاً لإعلان الحرب على المارة؟
لم تكن مطاردة السلطات الأمنية طويلة، فبمجرد انتشار الفيديو، تحركت المديرية العامة لقوى الأمن الداخلي لتحدد هوية الفاعل (ج. ح)، من مواليد 1990. وبمجرد توقيفه والبدء بالتحقيقات، تكشفت الحقيقة الصادمة: المتهم كان تحت تأثير تعاطي المخدرات.
وفي اعترافاته، كشف الموقوف أنه فقد تماماً إدراكه للواقع، إذ خيّل له أن السيارات المارة «تتآمر لمهاجمته»، مما دفعه للتصرف بعنف مفرط دفاعاً عن «وهم» لا وجود له إلا في عقله المغيب.
وأحالت السلطات القضائية الموقوف بجرم تعاطي المخدرات، ورمي الحجارة على السيارات، وتعريض حياة المواطنين للخطر، بناءً على إشارة القضاء المختص. ورغم انتهاء الواقعة أمنياً، إلا أنها أعادت فتح نقاشٍ واسع في لبنان حول مخاطر تعاطي المخدرات، وكيف يمكن لثوانٍ من فقدان الوعي أن تهدد حياة أبرياء كانوا ببساطة يمرون في طريقهم للعمل أو للمنزل.
وتعتبر هذه الحادثة تذكيراً بأن آثار المخدرات لا تقف عند حدود «المتعاطي»، بل تمتد لتكون «قنبلة موقوتة» تهدد أمن الطرق وسلامة المجتمع بأسره.
In a scene that caused panic among drivers, a vital road in the Rumiyeh area of Lebanon turned into a theater of chaos, as dozens of cars were suddenly attacked with stones, leading to shattered windows and putting the lives of passengers at real risk in just a few minutes.
The incident began when drivers noticed a person lurking near passing cars, rushing towards them forcefully and throwing stones randomly and hysterically. A video that spread like wildfire on social media documented the state of terror experienced by citizens, shedding light on a "mysterious behavior" that left everyone questioning: what drives someone to declare war on passersby?
The pursuit by security authorities was not long, as soon as the video spread, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces moved to identify the perpetrator (J. H.), born in 1990. Once he was arrested and investigations began, the shocking truth emerged: the accused was under the influence of drugs.
In his confessions, the detainee revealed that he had completely lost touch with reality, as he imagined that the passing cars were "conspiring to attack him," which drove him to act with excessive violence in defense of an "illusion" that existed only in his clouded mind.
The judicial authorities referred the detainee for drug use, throwing stones at cars, and endangering the lives of citizens, based on the instructions of the competent judiciary. Although the incident ended from a security standpoint, it reopened a wide discussion in Lebanon about the dangers of drug use and how seconds of lost consciousness can threaten the lives of innocents who were simply passing on their way to work or home.
This incident serves as a reminder that the effects of drugs do not stop at the boundaries of the "user," but extend to become a "ticking time bomb" threatening road safety and the well-being of society as a whole.
