ضرب زلزال بلغت قوته (7.2) درجة على مقياس ريختر المنطقة المحيطة بمحافظة أوموري شمال اليابان، ما دفع السُلطات إلى إصدار تحذير من موجات تسونامي.
وأوضح المركز الياباني للأرصاد الجوية أن التحذيرات تشمل السواحل الشمالية الشرقية لليابان، مع احتمال وصول أمواج تسونامي قد يصل ارتفاعها إلى 3 أمتار.
وأشار المركز إلى أن الزلزال وقع على عمق نحو (50) كيلومتراً قبالة السواحل الشرقية لمحافظة أوموري.
وحث خبراء الزلازل سكان المناطق الساحلية على إخلاء منازلهم فوراً، ولم ترد حتى الآن تقارير عن وقوع أضرار.
A magnitude (7.2) earthquake struck the area surrounding Aomori Prefecture in northern Japan, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.
The Japan Meteorological Agency clarified that the warnings include the northeastern coasts of Japan, with the possibility of tsunami waves reaching heights of up to 3 meters.
The agency noted that the earthquake occurred at a depth of about (50) kilometers off the eastern coast of Aomori Prefecture.
Seismology experts urged residents of coastal areas to evacuate their homes immediately, and no reports of damage have been received so far.
