وأفاد المركز الألماني لأبحاث علوم الأرض، بأن مركز الزلزال كان على عمق 29 كيلومتراً.
ويأتي هذا الزلزال في سياق نشاط زلزالي متزايد تشهده كامتشاتكا، منذ 30 يوليو الماضي، عندما ضرب المنطقة أقوى زلزال منذ 1952 بقوة 8.8 درجة، وكانت السلطات المحلية في الإقليم قد أعلنت حالة الطوارئ ذات الطابع الطبيعي، منذ نهاية يوليو الماضي.
A 6-magnitude earthquake struck today off the eastern coast of the Russian region of Kamchatka.
The German Research Center for Geosciences reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 29 kilometers.
This earthquake comes in the context of increased seismic activity in Kamchatka, which has been ongoing since July 30, when the region experienced its strongest earthquake since 1952, measuring 8.8 on the Richter scale. Local authorities in the region declared a natural disaster emergency at the end of July.
