تتواصل في الصين اليوم جهود الإنقاذ لفتح الطريق المؤدي إلى مواقع التخييم على المنحدر الشرقي لجبل «إيفرست» في التبت، بعد تساقط كثيف للثلوج بدأ الجمعة واستمر حتى أمس (السبت)، وفقاً لتقارير إعلامية رسمية.
وأفادت التقارير بأن نحو ألف شخص ما زالوا محاصرين بسبب العاصفة الثلجية، بينما يشارك مئات من القرويين إلى جانب فرق الإنقاذ في إزالة الثلوج التي تعيق الوصول إلى المنطقة الواقعة على ارتفاع يزيد على 4900 متر.
وفي الجهة المقابلة من الحدود في نيبال، ذكرت الشرطة أن الأمطار الغزيرة تسببت في انهيارات أرضية وسيول؛ ما أدى إلى إغلاق طرق وتدمير جسور ومقتل 47 شخصاً على الأقل منذ يوم الجمعة.
كما لقي 35 شخصاً مصرعهم في انهيارات أرضية متفرقة بمنطقة إيلام شرقي البلاد المحاذية للهند، في حين أُبلغ عن فقدان 9 أشخاص جرفتهم مياه الفيضانات، ومصرع 3 آخرين جراء صواعق برق في مناطق أخرى من البلاد.
Rescue efforts continue today in China to open the road leading to the camping sites on the eastern slope of Mount "Everest" in Tibet, following heavy snowfall that began on Friday and continued until yesterday (Saturday), according to official media reports.
Reports indicate that around a thousand people are still trapped due to the snowstorm, while hundreds of villagers, alongside rescue teams, are participating in clearing the snow that hinders access to the area located at an altitude of over 4,900 meters.
On the opposite side of the border in Nepal, police reported that heavy rains have caused landslides and floods, leading to road closures, the destruction of bridges, and at least 47 fatalities since Friday.
Additionally, 35 people have died in scattered landslides in the Ilam region of eastern Nepal, adjacent to India, while 9 others are reported missing after being swept away by floodwaters, and 3 more have died due to lightning strikes in other areas of the country.
