تحوّلت رحلة ترفيهية إلى مأساة بحرية قبالة السواحل البرتغالية، بعدما هاجمت مجموعة من حيتان الأوركا يختاً سياحياً بشكل متكرر، لتغرقه بالكامل في عرض البحر وسط حالة من الذعر بين الركاب.
هجوم غير متوقع
وقد فوجئ السياح الذين كانوا على متن اليخت بقطيع من حيتان الأوركا يصطدم بجوانب القارب بعنف، ما أدى إلى حدوث أضرار جسيمة وتسرب المياه تدريجياً حتى غرق القارب. وهرعت فرق الإنقاذ إلى الموقع وتمكنت من إجلاء الركاب جميعاً دون تسجيل إصابات، لكن اليخت لم ينجُ من الغرق.
قارب الإنقاذ لم يسلم
وفي تطور صادم، لم ينجُ حتى قارب إنقاذ كان في طريقه لمساعدة السياح من الهجوم، إذ اصطدمت به الحيتان نفسها، مما تسبب في أعطال أجبرت فرق الطوارئ على الاستعانة بوسائل إضافية لإتمام عملية الإنقاذ.
هجمات متكررة
الحادثة ليست الأولى من نوعها، إذ سجلت السلطات البحرية في السنوات الأخيرة سلسلة من هجمات حيتان الأوركا على قوارب قرب السواحل البرتغالية والإسبانية، ما أثار مخاوف متزايدة لدى الصيادين والسياح على حدٍّ سواء.
أسباب مثيرة للجدل
ويرجح خبراء أن هذه السلوكيات قد تعود إلى محاولات حيتان الأوركا الدفاع عن مناطقها، أو نتيجة اختلالات بيئية وغذائية دفعتها إلى تغيير نمط تفاعلها مع القوارب. لكن الغموض ما زال يكتنف الظاهرة التي تتصاعد وتيرتها عاماً بعد عام.

Unexpected Attack

Rescue teams rushed to the scene and managed to evacuate all the passengers without any injuries, but the yacht did not survive the sinking.
The Rescue Boat Was Not Safe
In a shocking development, even the rescue boat that was on its way to assist the tourists from the attack did not survive, as it was struck by the whales themselves, causing malfunctions that forced emergency teams to seek additional means to complete the rescue operation.
