أعلن إيلون ماسك أن شركته xAI ستتخذ إجراءات قانونية ضد Apple، متهمًا الشركة الأمريكية بالتلاعب بتصنيفات التطبيقات في متجر App Store لصالح منافسي الذكاء الاصطناعي. وأوضح ماسك في سلسلة منشورات على منصة X أن Apple تمنع تطبيقات X وروبوت الدردشة Grok من الظهور في قائمة التطبيقات الموصى بها، ما يعد -بحسبه- «انتهاكًا لقوانين مكافحة الاحتكار».
وأشار ماسك إلى أن تطبيق X هو التطبيق الإخباري الأول عالميًا، فيما يحتل Grok المرتبة الخامسة بين جميع التطبيقات، متسائلًا عن سبب عدم إدراجهما ضمن قسم «الضروريات» في المتجر. ولم يقدم ماسك أي دليل ملموس على مزاعمه، ولا يتضح حتى الآن ما إذا كان قد رفع الدعوى رسميًا.
من جانبها، أكدت Apple أن متجر التطبيقات «مصمم ليكون عادلاً وخاليًا من التحيز»، مشيرة إلى أن التوصيات تخضع لمعايير موضوعية وتعتمد على مخططات بيانية وخوارزميات وقوائم مختارة بعناية من خبراء.
يأتي هذا النزاع في سياق صراع مستمر بين ماسك وOpenAI وApple، حيث سبق لماسك تهديده بحظر أجهزة Apple في شركاته إذا تم دمج تقنيات OpenAI مع أنظمة التشغيل الخاصة بها، كما أثارت بعض التقارير السابقة شبهات حول تعديل خوارزميات X بعد استحواذه عليها لتعزيز منشوراته.
Elon Musk announced that his company xAI will take legal action against Apple, accusing the American company of manipulating app rankings in the App Store in favor of its AI competitors. Musk explained in a series of posts on the X platform that Apple is preventing X apps and the Grok chatbot from appearing in the recommended apps list, which he claims is a "violation of antitrust laws."
Musk pointed out that the X app is the number one news app globally, while Grok ranks fifth among all apps, questioning why they are not included in the "Essentials" section of the store. Musk did not provide any concrete evidence for his claims, and it is not yet clear if he has officially filed the lawsuit.
For its part, Apple confirmed that the app store "is designed to be fair and free of bias," noting that recommendations are subject to objective criteria and rely on graphs, algorithms, and carefully curated lists from experts.
This dispute comes amid an ongoing conflict between Musk, OpenAI, and Apple, as Musk had previously threatened to ban Apple devices in his companies if OpenAI technologies were integrated into its operating systems. Additionally, some earlier reports raised suspicions about modifications to X's algorithms after Musk acquired it to boost his posts.
