هز انفجار مدوٍ، صباح أمس (الأربعاء)، مصنعًا للألعاب النارية في منطقة نونغ خاي بمقاطعة سارابوري، وسط تايلند، ما أسفر عن مقتل ما لا يقل عن تسعة أشخاص وإصابة اثنين آخرين بجروح خطيرة، حيث اندلع حريق ناتج عن الانفجار بسرعة، ما تسبب في أضرار جسيمة بالمصنع وأثار حالة من الذعر في المنطقة المحيطة.
ووفقًا للسلطات التايلندية، وقع الانفجار الساعة التاسعة صباحًا بالتوقيت المحلي، ويُعتقد أن السبب الأولي يعود إلى خطأ فني أثناء التعامل مع مواد متفجرة داخل المصنع.
وهرعت فرق الإطفاء والإنقاذ إلى مكان الحادثة، حيث تمكنت من السيطرة على الحريق بعد ساعات من الجهود المضنية.
وأعلنت السلطات التايلندية عن إجراء تحقيقات مكثفة لتحديد الأسباب الدقيقة للحادثة، مع التركيز على إجراءات السلامة داخل المصنع ومدى الالتزام بالتراخيص اللازمة لتخزين وتصنيع الألعاب النارية.
وتُعد حوادث انفجار مصانع الألعاب النارية في تايلند أمرًا متكررًا نسبيًا بسبب ضعف تطبيق لوائح السلامة في بعض المنشآت، وفي يوليو 2023، شهدت منطقة سونغاي كولوك في إقليم ناراثيوات انفجارًا مماثلاً في مستودع ألعاب نارية، أدى إلى مقتل عشرة أشخاص وإصابة أكثر من 100 آخرين، حيث تبين أن المستودع كان يعمل بدون ترخيص.
كما سجلت تايلند حوادث مماثلة في السنوات الأخيرة، مثل انفجار عام 2021 في مصنع للبلاستيك بمقاطعة ساموت براكان أصاب 21 شخصًا، وأشارت تقارير إلى أن هذه الحوادث تمثل تحديات مستمرة في فرض معايير السلامة، خصوصاً في المناطق التي تُعتبر مراكز لتصنيع وتخزين المواد القابلة للاشتعال.
وفي ظل استمرار التحقيقات في حادثة سارابوري، دعت السلطات إلى تعزيز الرقابة على مثل هذه المنشآت لمنع تكرار مثل هذه المآسي.
A loud explosion shook a fireworks factory in the Nong Khai area of Saraburi province, central Thailand, yesterday morning (Wednesday), resulting in the deaths of at least nine people and leaving two others seriously injured. A fire caused by the explosion quickly broke out, causing significant damage to the factory and creating a state of panic in the surrounding area.
According to Thai authorities, the explosion occurred at 9 a.m. local time, and the initial cause is believed to be a technical error while handling explosive materials inside the factory.
Fire and rescue teams rushed to the scene, managing to control the fire after hours of strenuous efforts.
The Thai authorities announced that intensive investigations are underway to determine the exact causes of the incident, focusing on safety procedures within the factory and the extent of compliance with the necessary licenses for storing and manufacturing fireworks.
Explosions at fireworks factories in Thailand are relatively common due to the weak enforcement of safety regulations in some facilities. In July 2023, a similar explosion occurred in a fireworks warehouse in the Sungai Kolok area of Narathiwat province, resulting in the deaths of ten people and injuring more than 100 others, as it was found that the warehouse was operating without a license.
Thailand has also recorded similar incidents in recent years, such as the 2021 explosion at a plastic factory in Samut Prakan province that injured 21 people. Reports indicate that these incidents represent ongoing challenges in enforcing safety standards, especially in areas considered centers for the manufacturing and storage of flammable materials.
As investigations into the Saraburi incident continue, authorities have called for enhanced oversight of such facilities to prevent the recurrence of such tragedies.
