لقي 5 ركاب مصرعهم إثر تحطم طائرة هليكوبتر عسكرية في مطار العاصمة الصومالية مقديشو.
وقال المتحدث باسم الجيش الأوغندي فيليكس كولايجيي إن طائرة هليكوبتر عسكرية أوغندية تابعة لبعثة الاتحاد الأفريقي لدعم الاستقرار في الصومال المعروفة باسم «أوصوم»، تحطمت في مطار العاصمة مقديشو أمس، ما أدى إلى مقتل خمسة ركاب.
وأضاف كولايجيي أن ثلاثة فقط من أصل ثمانية أفراد كانوا على متن الطائرة الهليكوبتر نجوا من الحادث، لكنهم أصيبوا بجروح بالغة وحروق.
وأوضح أن تأثير الحادث تسبب في انفجار ذخائر على متن الطائرة، ما أدى إلى تدمير مبانٍ قريبة وإصابة ثلاثة مدنيين.
Five passengers were killed when a military helicopter crashed at the airport in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
Ugandan army spokesman Felix Kulayigye stated that a Ugandan military helicopter belonging to the African Union Mission in Somalia, known as "AMISOM," crashed at the airport in the capital Mogadishu yesterday, resulting in the deaths of five passengers.
Kulayigye added that only three out of the eight personnel on board the helicopter survived the incident, but they sustained serious injuries and burns.
He explained that the impact of the crash caused munitions on board the helicopter to explode, leading to the destruction of nearby buildings and injuring three civilians.
