يقدّم تطبيق المراسلة الفورية الشهير «واتساب»، المملوك لشركة «ميتا»، طريقة جديدة لمسح المستندات ضوئياً باستخدام كاميرا الهاتف.
وستُطلق «واتساب» ميزة تتيح للمستخدمين مسح المستندات ضوئياً باستخدام الكاميرا مباشرة من التطبيق، وهي متاحة حالياً لبعض مختبري النسخة التجريبية.
وتلغي هذه الميزة الجديدة الموجودة في أحدث إصدار تجريبي من «واتساب» لنظام «أندرويد»، الحاجة إلى أي أدوات مسح ضوئي من جهات خارجية.
وتهدف تجربة المسح الضوئي إلى تلبية احتياجات المستخدمين وظروف الاستخدام المختلفة.
فعند اختيار خيار «مسح المستند ضوئياً» من واجهة مشاركة المستندات، يتم تفعيل كاميرا الهاتف فوراً، مع عرض معاينة مباشرة تساعد المستخدمين على تحديد موضع المستند بشكل صحيح لالتقاطه.

وتتم عملية المسح والتحويل بأكملها محلياً على جهاز المستخدم، وتستفيد من واجهات برمجة التطبيقات المدمجة في نظام «أندرويد» لالتقاط المستندات.
ويبقى الملف الناتج مخزناً على الجهاز حتى يقرر المستخدم إرساله عبر «واتساب».
ومن المتوقع أن تطرح «واتساب» الميزة الجديدة لمزيد من المستخدمين خلال الأسابيع القادمة.

The resulting file remains stored on the device until the user decides to send it via "WhatsApp."
