أعلنت هيئة الإذاعة والتلفزيون اليابانية، (الخميس)، عن رصد دب بري داخل مطار ياماغاتا شمالي اليابان، ما تسبب في إغلاق المدرج وتعليق الحركة الجوية بشكل مؤقت.
وبحسب إدارة المطار، فقد تم رصد الدب لأول مرة الساعة السابعة صباحًا بالتوقيت المحلي (01:00 بتوقيت موسكو)، حيث حاول الموظفون التعامل معه بأنفسهم، لكنه ظهر مجددًا بالقرب من المدرج في منتصف النهار، ما دفع السلطات إلى إغلاق المدرج بالكامل كإجراء احترازي.
وأسفرت الحادثة عن إلغاء 10 رحلات جوية، في وقت استدعت فيه إدارة المطار خبراء من منظمة صيد محلية لنصب فخ للقبض على الحيوان، إلا أن الدب ظل طليقًا حتى الساعة السادسة مساءً بالتوقيت المحلي.
وأكدت هيئة الإذاعة أن الموظفين سيواصلون عمليات التفتيش صباح الجمعة، وأن استئناف الرحلات الجوية سيعتمد على تقييم الوضع الأمني في محيط المطار.
ويرجح خبراء أن تغيّر المناخ ونقص الغذاء في الغابات المحيطة قد يكونان السبب وراء دخول الدب إلى منطقة مأهولة، في محاولة للبحث عن الطعام.
The Japanese Broadcasting Corporation announced on Thursday that a wild bear was spotted inside Yamagata Airport in northern Japan, which led to the temporary closure of the runway and the suspension of air traffic.
According to the airport management, the bear was first spotted at 7 AM local time (01:00 Moscow time), where employees attempted to handle it themselves, but it reappeared near the runway at noon, prompting authorities to fully close the runway as a precautionary measure.
The incident resulted in the cancellation of 10 flights, while the airport management called in experts from a local hunting organization to set a trap to capture the animal, but the bear remained at large until 6 PM local time.
The broadcasting agency confirmed that employees will continue inspection operations on Friday morning, and the resumption of flights will depend on the assessment of the security situation around the airport.
Experts suggest that climate change and a lack of food in the surrounding forests may be the reason for the bear entering a populated area in search of food.
