تحطمت مقاتلة كورية جنوبية أثناء محاولتها الإقلاع في قاعدة إيلسون الجوية بولاية ألاسكا الأمريكية.
وبيّن سلاح الجو الكوري الجنوبي، الأربعاء، أن طيارين اثنين أصيبا بحروق وجروح طفيفة أثناء قفزهما من طائرة مقاتلة تحطمت في ألاسكا.
وقعت حادثة الطائرة من طراز KF-16D، في قاعدة إيلسون الجوية. وأفاد بيان صادر عن القاعدة بأن الطائرة المحطمة، التي دمرها الحريق جزئيّاً، موجودة على العشب بجوار المدرج، مضيفاً أن فرق الطوارئ وصلت عقب الحادثة بوقت قصير.
ونُقل الطياران إلى مستشفى باسيت العسكري المجتمعي في قاعدة واينرايت القريبة. وذكر البيان الكوري الجنوبي أن الطيارين برتبة نقيب بحالة جيدة.
وأضاف البيان أن كوريا الجنوبية تعتزم إرسال محققين في الحوادث وفريق إصلاح طارئ إلى إيلسون الأربعاء. وأوضح: ستناقش القوات الجوية عن كثب مع الولايات المتحدة وستحدد السبب الدقيق للحادثة.
ويتدرب الطيارون الكوريون الجنوبيون جنباً إلى جنب مع القوات الأمريكية في ألاسكا في إطار مناورات «العلم الأحمر» العسكرية المشتركة الجارية حاليّاً.
A South Korean fighter jet crashed while attempting to take off at Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska, USA.
The South Korean Air Force stated on Wednesday that two pilots sustained minor burns and injuries while ejecting from the fighter jet that crashed in Alaska.
The incident involved a KF-16D aircraft at Eielson Air Force Base. A statement from the base reported that the wrecked aircraft, which was partially destroyed by fire, is located on the grass next to the runway, adding that emergency crews arrived shortly after the incident.
The pilots were transported to Bassett Army Community Hospital at the nearby Fort Wainwright. The South Korean statement indicated that the pilots, who hold the rank of captain, are in good condition.
The statement added that South Korea plans to send accident investigators and an emergency repair team to Eielson on Wednesday. It clarified: The Air Force will closely discuss with the United States and determine the exact cause of the incident.
South Korean pilots are training alongside U.S. forces in Alaska as part of the ongoing joint military exercises known as "Red Flag."
