في خطوة غير مسبوقة تهدف إلى تعزيز تجربة السفر لمحبي الحيوانات الأليفة، أعلنت إيطاليا تغييراً كبيراً في قواعد السفر الجوي يسمح للكلاب الكبيرة بالسفر في مقصورة الركاب إلى جانب أصحابها، بدلاً من حصرها في عنبر الأمتعة.
هذا القرار، الذي أثار جدلاً بين المسافرين، يعكس حرص إيطاليا على تسهيل السفر مع الحيوانات الأليفة، لكنه أثار أيضاً مخاوف بشأن السلامة والراحة على متن الطائرات.
ووفقاً لصحيفة mail online، يأتي هذا التغيير في وقت تسعى فيه شركات الطيران العالمية إلى تحسين خدماتها، بينما تواجه تحديات جديدة في مواكبة توقعات المسافرين المتنوعة.
وأعلنت هيئة الطيران المدني الإيطالية (ENAC) أن القواعد الجديدة ستتيح لعدد أكبر من الركاب اصطحاب حيواناتهم الأليفة في الرحلات الجوية.
وكانت الحيوانات التي يتراوح وزنها بين 8 - 10 كيلوغرامات مقتصرة سابقاً على السفر في عنبر الأمتعة.
وفي تعليق له على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، قال وزير النقل نائب رئيس الوزراء ماتيو سالفيني: «من الآن فصاعداً سيتمكن أصحاب الكلاب والقطط من السفر مع أصدقائهم ذوي الأرجل الأربعة بسهولة أكبر، وعدنا ووفينا!».
ورغم ترحيب بعض المسافرين بهذا القرار، أعرب آخرون عن استيائهم عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، فقال أحدهم على إنستغرام: «لا أريد الجلوس على مقعد كان عليه كلب غير نظيف»، وأضاف آخر: «فكرة سخيفة! تخيل طائرة في حالة طوارئ، ستصبح الحيوانات مصدر فوضى، قرار غير آمن تماماً».
وانتقد ثالث القرار قائلاً: «هذا قرار سخيف، لا يراعي الأشخاص الذين يعانون من فوبيا الحيوانات أو الحساسية، ليس الجميع يحافظون على نظافة حيواناتهم، ومن سيتحمل المسؤولية إذا هاجم كلب راكباً آخر؟»، وأشار راكب آخر إلى مشكلة الحساسية قائلاً: «قد يكون الكلب بجوار صاحبه، لكن ماذا عن الراكب المجاور الذي يعاني من الحساسية أو الخوف؟».
ومع ذلك، يخضع القرار لبعض القيود، فالقواعد الجديدة لا تلزم شركات الطيران الإيطالية بتغيير سياساتها، حيث تستمر العديد منها في السماح فقط للحيوانات المساعدة بالسفر في المقصورة.
كما يجب وضع الحيوانات في حاويات معتمدة توضع على المقاعد، بشرط ألا تعيق مخارج الطوارئ أو عمليات الطاقم، ويتم تثبيتها بأحزمة أو أنظمة تثبيت محددة.
هذه الشروط قد تحد من قدرة أصحاب الكلاب الكبيرة على الاستفادة من السياسة الجديدة، نظراً إلى صعوبة استيعاب حاويات كبيرة على مقاعد الطائرة.
يأتي هذا القرار في أعقاب قرار آخر مثير للجدل من شركة الطيران البريطانية «بريتيش إيرلاينز»، التي منعت طاقمها من النشر على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من فنادق التوقف أثناء الرحلات، وطلبت إزالة أي صور سابقة من هذه الفنادق.

According to the Mail Online, this change comes at a time when global airlines are striving to improve their services while facing new challenges in keeping up with diverse traveler expectations.
The Italian Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC) announced that the new rules will allow more passengers to bring their pets on flights.
Previously, animals weighing between 8 - 10 kilograms were limited to traveling in the cargo hold.
In a comment on social media, Transport Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini stated, "From now on, dog and cat owners will be able to travel with their four-legged friends more easily, we promised and we delivered!"
While some travelers welcomed this decision, others expressed their discontent on social media, with one person saying on Instagram, "I don't want to sit in a seat that a dirty dog has been in," and another adding, "It's a ridiculous idea! Imagine an emergency on a plane; the animals will become a source of chaos, it's a completely unsafe decision."
A third critic of the decision said, "This is a silly decision that doesn't take into account people who have animal phobias or allergies. Not everyone keeps their pets clean, and who will be responsible if a dog attacks another passenger?" Another passenger pointed out the allergy issue, saying, "The dog might be next to its owner, but what about the neighboring passenger who suffers from allergies or fear?"
However, the decision is subject to some restrictions, as the new rules do not require Italian airlines to change their policies, with many continuing to allow only service animals to travel in the cabin.
Additionally, animals must be placed in approved containers that are secured on the seats, provided they do not obstruct emergency exits or crew operations, and they must be secured with specific straps or restraint systems.
These conditions may limit the ability of large dog owners to take advantage of the new policy, given the difficulty of accommodating large containers on airplane seats.
This decision follows another controversial move by British Airways, which prohibited its crew from posting on social media from layover hotels during flights and requested the removal of any previous photos from these hotels.
