سجلت غانا 45 إصابة مؤكدة بفايروس جدري القرود خلال شهر واحد، في أسوأ موجة تفشٍّ منذ عام 2022، مشيرةً إلى عدم تسجيل أي حالة وفاة حتى الآن، بحسب هيئة الصحة الغانية.
وأفادت الهيئة اليوم بأنها «أطلقت خطة استجابة عاجلة؛ تهدف إلى احتواء التفشي، وتشمل التعرف المبكّر على المصابين، وعزلهم، وتقديم العلاج اللازم لهم، إضافة إلى تتبع المخالطين، وتطعيم العاملين في القطاع الصحي الأكثر عرضة للإصابة، إلى جانب تنفيذ حملة توعوية شاملة».
وأكدت السلطات الصحية أن عدد الإصابات قد يشهد ارتفاعاً خلال الأيام أو الأسابيع القادمة، لكنها أوضحت أن السلالة المتحورة المنتشرة حالياً في البلاد تُعدُّ أقل خطورة من تلك المتفشية في مناطق أخرى.
Ghana has recorded 45 confirmed cases of monkeypox virus within one month, marking the worst outbreak since 2022, noting that no deaths have been reported so far, according to the Ghana Health Service.
The agency reported today that it has "launched an urgent response plan aimed at containing the outbreak, which includes early identification of infected individuals, isolating them, providing necessary treatment, as well as tracking contacts, vaccinating health workers who are most at risk, in addition to implementing a comprehensive awareness campaign."
Health authorities confirmed that the number of cases may rise in the coming days or weeks, but they clarified that the circulating variant currently in the country is considered less dangerous than those spreading in other regions.
