أطلقت شركة غوغل تطبيقاً جديداً يحمل اسم AI Edge Gallery، وهو تطبيق تجريبي موجّه لأجهزة أندرويد، يتيح تشغيل نماذج الذكاء الاصطناعي التوليدي (LLMs) محلياً في الأجهزة دون الحاجة إلى اتصال بالإنترنت.
ولم يُطرح التطبيق بعدُ في متجر قوقل بلاي، لكنه بات متاحاً حالياً عبر منصة GitHub بصيغة APK، ومن المنتظر أن يصل إلى أجهزة iOS في وقتٍ لاحق.
ويختلف تطبيق AI Edge Gallery عن تطبيق Gemini المعروف من غوغل؛ إذ لا يعتمد على الخدمات السحابية لمعالجة الطلبات، بل يعمل بالكامل محلياً في أجهزة المستخدمين، مما يمنح المستخدمين خصوصية أكبر دون اتصال بالإنترنت. وفي المقابل، تعتمد تطبيقات مثل Gemini وChatGPT على الخوادم السحابية، مما يعني أن كل طلب يُرسل ويُعالج خارجياً.
وعند تثبيت التطبيق، تظهر للمستخدم واجهة رئيسية تتضمن ثلاث أدوات رئيسية هي: «Ask Image» لتحليل الصور والإجابة عن الأسئلة المتعلقة بها، و«Prompt Lab» لصياغة النصوص، وإعادة صياغة النصوص وتلخيصها وتوليد الشفرات البرمجية، و«AI Chat» للدردشة المباشرة مع النماذج الذكية.
ويمكن اختيار النموذج المراد تشغيله من بين أربعة نماذج مدمجة في التطبيق، كما يمكن للمستخدمين استيراد نماذج إضافية من خلال زر (إضافة +) في الشاشة الرئيسية، وتشغيلها محلياً باستخدام معالج الهاتف أو وحدة الرسومات (GPU) حسب إمكانات الجهاز، وهو ما يُسرّع الأداء بنحو ملحوظ.
ويستهدف التطبيق بنحو أساسي المطورين ومحبي التقنية الذين يرغبون في اختبار أحدث نماذج الذكاء الاصطناعي في بيئة محلية آمنة، دون إرسال بياناتهم إلى الخوادم.
ومع مزايا الخصوصية والتشغيل المحلي، يجب على المستخدمين مراعاة أن الأداء قد يكون أبطأ مقارنةً بالخوادم السحابية، وأن أحجام النماذج ضخمة نسبياً (يراوح حجمها بين 560 ميجابايت و4.4 جيجابايت)، مما يتطلب مساحة تخزين كافية.

Users can choose the model they want to run from among four models embedded in the application, and they can also import additional models through the (Add +) button on the main screen, and run them locally using the phone's processor or graphics unit (GPU) depending on the device's capabilities, which significantly speeds up performance.
The application primarily targets developers and tech enthusiasts who wish to test the latest AI models in a secure local environment, without sending their data to servers.
With the advantages of privacy and local operation, users should consider that performance may be slower compared to cloud servers, and that the model sizes are relatively large (ranging from 560 MB to 4.4 GB), which requires sufficient storage space.
