كشفت شركة آبل، خلال مؤتمرها السنوي للمطورين WWDC 2025، الإصدار الجديد من نظام تشغيل هواتف آيفون iOS 26، الذي جاء بتصميم بصري جديد كليًا يحمل اسم (الزجاج السائل) (Liquid Glass)، في تحول يعتبر الأجرأ على مستوى واجهة النظام وتجربة المستخدم.
ويمثل هذا التحديث أول مرة تعتمد فيها آبل طريقة جديدة لتسمية أنظمة التشغيل، إذ تم استبدال الترقيم التسلسلي التقليدي بأرقام السنوات، ما يعني أن هذا النظام كان سيحمل اسم iOS 19 وفق النظام السابق.
iOS 26 يأتي بتغييرات عميقة في شكل الشاشة الرئيسية وشاشة القفل، حيث بات بالإمكان تمديد الساعة لتشغل مساحة أكبر، كما أعيد تصميم تطبيق الكاميرا ليظهر بمظهر أكثر بساطة مع إخفاء العديد من الأزرار، في حين بات متصفح سفاري يعرض الصفحات بملء الشاشة مع شريط علامات التبويب الطافي فوق المحتوى.
وأعلنت آبل ميزة جديدة داخل تطبيق الهاتف تتيح فلترة المكالمات الواردة عبر مساعد ذكي يمكنه الرد نيابة عن المستخدم أو الانتظار بدلاً منه.
وفي تطبيق الرسائل، قدم النظام تحسينات بارزة مثل القدرة على تعيين خلفيات مخصصة للمحادثات، سواء من الصور المقترحة أو التي يرفعها المستخدم أو حتى من الصور التي يتم توليدها باستخدام أداة Image Playground. كما أصبح من الممكن إنشاء استطلاعات للرأي داخل المحادثات، مع قدرة ميزة Apple Intelligence على اقتراح إنشاء استطلاع في اللحظة المناسبة، إضافة إلى دعم مؤشرات الكتابة في الدردشات الجماعية لأول مرة.
وقدّمت آبل ميزة Genmoji التي تتيح للمستخدم دمج رمزين تعبيريين لإنشاء رمز جديد، إلى جانب دعم أداة Image Playground لتوليد الصور بالاعتماد على روبوت ChatGPT من شركة OpenAI.
من أبرز المزايا كذلك ميزة «الترجمة الحية» Live Translation، التي تتيح الترجمة الفورية للمحادثات في الرسائل النصية أو المكالمات الهاتفية ومكالمات فيس تايم، دون الحاجة إلى اتصال بالإنترنت، حيث تعمل الميزة بشكل كامل على معالجات الجهاز.
وستتمكن التطبيقات الخارجية أيضًا من الاستفادة من هذه التقنية من خلال واجهة برمجية خاصة. وبدوره، حصل تطبيق الخرائط على قدرات أذكى، تتيح له تعلّم المسارات المفضلة للمستخدم وتنبيهه بوجود اختناقات مرورية، مع إمكانية الرجوع إلى الأماكن السابقة لمشاركتها بسهولة.
ومن المقرر أن يتاح لمستخدمي أجهزة آبل بدءًا من خريف هذا العام إنشاء بطاقة هوية رقمية داخل تطبيق Apple Wallet، في إطار سعي الشركة لتعزيز الاعتماد على الوثائق الرقمية، كما ستتيح خدمة Apple Pay تتبع الطلبات التي أجريت خارج النظام، بالاعتماد على تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي.
وفي مفاجأة موجهة لمجتمع اللاعبين، أعلنت آبل إطلاق تطبيق جديد مستقل مخصص بالكامل للألعاب، يُعرف باسم Games App، ويتيح الوصول إلى مكتبة الألعاب التي تم تحميلها من App Store، إلى جانب استعراض محتوى خدمة Apple Arcade ومتابعة ما يلعبه الأصدقاء عبر تبويب (اللعب معًا).
وكشفت آبل ميزة «الذكاء البصري» Visual Intelligence التي تتيح للمستخدم التفاعل مع ما يظهر على الشاشة، حيث استعرضت الشركة ميزة تتيح التعرف على عناصر مرئية في الصور، مثل السترات أو المنتجات الظاهرة في تطبيقات التواصل، والبحث عنها عبر الإنترنت مباشرة بعد التقاط لقطة شاشة.
ورغم هذا الكم من المزايا، فإن بعض التحسينات التي وعدت بها الشركة، خصوصا المتعلقة بتطوير المساعد الشخصي سيري ليصبح قادرًا على التفاعل السياقي مع الشاشة، لم تُطلق بعد، على أن يتم إصدارها في تحديث لاحق.
Apple revealed, during its annual WWDC 2025 developer conference, the new version of the iPhone operating system iOS 26, which features a completely new visual design called (Liquid Glass), marking a bold transformation in the system's interface and user experience.
This update represents the first time Apple has adopted a new method for naming operating systems, replacing the traditional sequential numbering with year-based numbers, meaning that this system would have been named iOS 19 under the previous system.
iOS 26 comes with profound changes in the layout of the home screen and lock screen, allowing the clock to be extended to occupy more space. The camera app has been redesigned to appear simpler with many buttons hidden, while Safari now displays pages in full screen with a floating tab bar above the content.
Apple announced a new feature within the phone app that allows filtering incoming calls through a smart assistant that can respond on behalf of the user or wait instead.
In the messages app, the system introduced significant improvements such as the ability to set custom backgrounds for conversations, whether from suggested images, user-uploaded photos, or even images generated using the Image Playground tool. It is now also possible to create polls within conversations, with the Apple Intelligence feature capable of suggesting the creation of a poll at the right moment, in addition to supporting typing indicators in group chats for the first time.
Another notable feature is Genmoji, which allows users to combine two emojis to create a new one, alongside support for the Image Playground tool to generate images based on OpenAI's ChatGPT.
One of the standout features is the Live Translation, which enables real-time translation of conversations in text messages or phone calls and FaceTime calls, without the need for an internet connection, as the feature operates fully on the device's processors.
Third-party apps will also be able to benefit from this technology through a dedicated API. Meanwhile, the maps app received smarter capabilities, allowing it to learn the user's preferred routes and alert them to traffic congestion, with the ability to revisit previous locations for easy sharing.
Starting this fall, Apple device users will be able to create a digital ID card within the Apple Wallet app, as part of the company's efforts to enhance reliance on digital documents. Additionally, Apple Pay will allow tracking of orders made outside the system, relying on artificial intelligence technologies.
In a surprise aimed at the gaming community, Apple announced the launch of a new standalone app dedicated entirely to games, known as the Games App, which provides access to the library of games downloaded from the App Store, along with showcasing content from the Apple Arcade service and tracking what friends are playing through the "Play Together" tab.
Apple unveiled the Visual Intelligence feature that allows users to interact with what appears on the screen, showcasing a feature that enables recognition of visual elements in images, such as jackets or products shown in messaging apps, and searching for them online immediately after taking a screenshot.
Despite this wealth of features, some improvements promised by the company, particularly related to developing the Siri personal assistant to be capable of contextual interaction with the screen, have not yet been released, with plans for them to be issued in a later update.
