شهدت منافسات أمس (الأحد) في دورة الألعاب الآسيوية الثالثة للشباب «البحرين 2025» تألقاً سعودياً لافتاً، بعد أن ارتفع رصيد المملكة إلى 12 ميدالية (3 ذهبيات، 4 فضيات، 5 برونزيات)، والمركز العاشر في الترتيب العام، وسط حضور تنافسي قوي في مختلف الألعاب.
وسجّلت اللاعبة تالا المزروع إنجازاً تاريخيّاً بتتويجها بالميدالية الذهبية لمنافسات EFootball ضمن الرياضات الإلكترونية (أول سعودية تحصد ميدالية في تاريخ دورات الألعاب الآسيوية بمختلف فئاتها) عقب فوزها في نصف النهائي على لاعبة لاوس بنتيجة (2 - 1) و(3 -0)، ثم تغلبها في النهائي على التايلندية دونياشيت سوبوادي بثلاثية نظيفة (3 - 0) و(1 - 0) و(3 - 1).
وأضاف الرباع محمد آل عجيان الميدالية السعودية الثانية في منافسات أمس بعد تحقيقه فضية رفع الأثقال لوزن (56) كيلوغراماً برفع (138) كيلوغراماً، خلف رباع الصين الذي حصد الذهب بـ(141) كيلوغراماً، والفلبين ثالثا بـ(137) كيلوغراماً.
وتوّج الفائزين نائب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد، ورئيس اللجنة الأولمبية البحرينية الشيخ خالد بن حمد آل خليفة، ورئيس الاتحاد الدولي لرفع الأثقال محمد جلود.
وفي لعبة الملاكمة التايلندية، أحرز اللاعب المعتصم بن سالم الميدالية البرونزية في وزن (57) كيلوغراماً، التي فاز بها أمس الأول (السبت)، لتضاف إلى حصيلة الأخضر في الدورة.
من جهة أخرى، واصل منتخب كرة اليد السعودي تألقه في البطولة بعد فوزه على البحرين (33 - 27)، متصدراً مجموعته بالعلامة الكاملة، بعد انتصاراته السابقة على المالديف (71 - 7)، والأردن (13 - 11)، وهونغ كونغ (43 - 16).
وعلى صعيد منتخب السلة (3×3) تأهل الأخضر إلى ربع النهائي بعد فوزه على سريلانكا (17 - 16)، واليمن (16 - 11)، في حين اختتم منتخب الصالات تحت 17 عاماً مشاركته بفوز على قيرغيزستان (3 - 1)، ليحل ثالثاً في مجموعته التي ضمت إيران وتايلند.
وفي منافسات كرة الطاولة، خسر اللاعب عبدالرحمن الطاهر أمام نظيره الكوري الجنوبي (0 - 3)، كما خسرت نهال القحطاني أمام لاعبة الصين تايبيه بالنتيجة نفسها، فيما خسر الثنائي أمام كمبوديا في الزوجي (1 - 3)، وسعود الطاهر أمام لاعب هونغ كونغ (1 - 3).
The competitions yesterday (Sunday) in the third Asian Youth Games "Bahrain 2025" witnessed remarkable Saudi brilliance, as the Kingdom's medal tally rose to 12 medals (3 golds, 4 silvers, 5 bronzes), placing it tenth in the overall ranking, amidst strong competitive presence in various sports.
The player Tala Al-Mazrou' achieved a historic accomplishment by winning the gold medal in EFootball within the electronic sports category (the first Saudi to win a medal in the history of the Asian Games across all categories) after defeating a player from Laos in the semifinals with a score of (2 - 1) and (3 - 0), and then overcoming the Thai player Dunyachit Subwadi in the final with a clean sweep of (3 - 0), (1 - 0), and (3 - 1).
Weightlifter Mohammed Al-Ajayan added the second Saudi medal in yesterday's competitions by securing a silver in the weightlifting event for the (56) kilogram category, lifting (138) kilograms, behind the Chinese lifter who won gold with (141) kilograms, and the Philippines in third place with (137) kilograms.
The winners were crowned by the Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the President of the International Weightlifting Federation, Mohammed Jaloud.
In Muay Thai boxing, the player Al-Mu'tasim bin Salem won the bronze medal in the (57) kilogram weight category, which he secured the day before yesterday (Saturday), adding to the green team's tally in the tournament.
On another note, the Saudi handball team continued to shine in the championship after defeating Bahrain (33 - 27), leading their group with a perfect score, following previous victories over the Maldives (71 - 7), Jordan (13 - 11), and Hong Kong (43 - 16).
In the 3x3 basketball team, the green team qualified for the quarter-finals after winning against Sri Lanka (17 - 16) and Yemen (16 - 11), while the under-17 futsal team concluded their participation with a victory over Kyrgyzstan (3 - 1), finishing third in their group which included Iran and Thailand.
In table tennis competitions, player Abdulrahman Al-Taher lost to his South Korean counterpart (0 - 3), and Nehal Al-Qahtani also lost to a player from Chinese Taipei with the same score, while the duo lost to Cambodia in doubles (1 - 3), and Saud Al-Taher lost to a player from Hong Kong (1 - 3).
