تصدّر مدرب برشلونة السابق تشافي هيرنانديز، قائمة المرشحين لقيادة الاتحاد، خلفاً للفرنسي لوران بلان، الذي أُقيل من منصبه بسبب تراجع النتائج، وفقاً لما أوردته صحيفة «سبورت» الإسبانية.
وذكرت الصحيفة أن إدارة الاتحاد بدأت تحركات عاجلة للتعاقد مع مدرب جديد لخلافة بلان، مشيرة إلى أن اسم تشافي يتصدر قائمة المرشحين، إلى جانب البرتغالي سيرجيو كونسيساو.
وأضافت أن تشافي لم يتولَّ تدريب أي فريق منذ إقالته من برشلونة في صيف 2024، على الرغم من ارتباط اسمه بعدد من الأندية الكبرى عقب رحيله عن «البلوغرانا»، من بينها الهلال، أياكس أمستردام، مانشستر يونايتد، إنتر ميامي، يوفنتوس، ميلان، توتنهام، باير ليفركوزن، ومونتيري، إلا أن المفاوضات لم تصل إلى اتفاق نهائي مع أي نادٍ.
حسن خليفة.. مدرباً مؤقتاً
يذكر أن إدارة الاتحاد كلفت الكابتن حسن خليفة بقيادة الفريق الأول بشكل مؤقت، وبمساعدة المدير الفني لفريق تحت 21 عاماً إيفان كاراسكو، وذلك لحين التعاقد مع جهاز فني جديد يتماشى مع تطلعات النادي ويحقق طموحات جماهيره.
Former Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez topped the list of candidates to lead Al-Ittihad, succeeding Frenchman Laurent Blanc, who was dismissed from his position due to declining results, according to the Spanish newspaper "Sport."
The newspaper reported that the Al-Ittihad management has begun urgent moves to hire a new coach to replace Blanc, noting that Xavi's name is at the top of the list of candidates, alongside Portuguese Sergio Conceição.
It added that Xavi has not taken charge of any team since his dismissal from Barcelona in the summer of 2024, despite his name being linked to several major clubs following his departure from "the Blaugrana," including Al-Hilal, Ajax Amsterdam, Manchester United, Inter Miami, Juventus, AC Milan, Tottenham, Bayer Leverkusen, and Monterrey, but negotiations did not reach a final agreement with any club.
Hassan Khalifa.. Interim Coach
It is worth mentioning that the Al-Ittihad management has assigned Captain Hassan Khalifa to lead the first team temporarily, with the assistance of the head coach of the under-21 team, Ivan Karasco, until a new coaching staff is contracted that aligns with the club's aspirations and meets the ambitions of its fans.
