خيَّم الحزن اليوم (الجمعة) على محافظة بيشة برحيل أكبر وأقدم رياضي في المحافظة الكابتن عمر زياد عن عمر بلغ ٩١ عاماً.
وكان الفقيد قد ساهم بشكل كبير في تأسيس الحركة الرياضية في بيشة من خلال نادي النخيل سابقاً (نادي بيشة حالياً)، ومثل النادي آنذاك لاعباً ثم مدرباً للفئات السنية وعنصراً فعالاً في النادي، وساهم كذلك في المناشط الرياضية والاجتماعية بالمحافظة، وعُرف بالأخلاق الفاضلة وخدمة الناس. والفقيد والد الكابتن تركي، أحد لاعبي المنتخب السعودي لكرة القدم للناشئين، ووالد الكابتن مشبب، المدرب الوطني في أكاديمية النادي الأهلي.
Today (Friday), sadness has enveloped the province of Bisha with the passing of the oldest and most prominent athlete in the province, Captain Omar Ziad, at the age of 91.
The deceased had significantly contributed to the establishment of sports activities in Bisha through the Al-Nakheel Club (now Bisha Club), where he represented the club as a player and later as a coach for youth teams, and was an active member of the club. He also contributed to various sports and social activities in the province and was known for his noble character and service to the community. The deceased is the father of Captain Turki, one of the players of the Saudi national football team for youth, and the father of Captain Mushabab, the national coach at the Al-Ahli Club Academy.
