أعلن الاتحاد الدولي للسيارات (FIA) وفورمولا إي عن تمديد اتفاقية الشراكة بينهما لعشر سنوات إضافية تبدأ من عام 2038م، مما يضمن استمرار تنظيم بطولة العالم للفورمولا إي ضمن فئة السيارات الكهربائية أحادية المقعد.
وترسخ هذه الاتفاقية مكانة بطولة العالم للفورمولا إي في صدارة رياضة المحركات العالمية، حيث توفر منصة فعالة لتعزيز مسار نمو البطولة، وجذب المزيد من الاستثمارات، وتوسيع تأثيرها العالمي، كما تمهد الطريق نحو الابتكار المستدام في قطاع السيارات بشكل أوسع.
وبموجب الخطط الحالية، تواصل فورمولا إي تنفيذ إستراتيجيتها الطموحة لتطوير سياراتها بشكل تدريجي، بما يشمل رفع السرعة القصوى، وتحسين التسارع، وتعزيز الديناميكا الهوائية، ورفع كفاءة الإطارات، بهدف الحفاظ على مكانتها واحدة من أكثر السباقات تنافسية وتقارباً في عالم رياضة المحركات، وتعكس هذه الابتكارات تزايد أهمية الفورمولا إي بالنسبة للمستهلكين وسوق السيارات الكهربائية، من خلال تعزيز انتقال التكنولوجيا من حلبات السباق إلى الطرقات.

وأكد رئيس الاتحاد الدولي للسيارات (FIA) محمد بن سليم، أن الاتفاقية تعد خطوة مهمة في مسيرة رياضة المحركات، وتجسيداً لإستراتيجيتهم المستمرة في الاتحاد الدولي للسيارات لتعزيز الاستقرار، والابتكار، ودفع عجلة النمو المستدام في مختلف جوانب رياضة المحركات، مشيراً إلى أن هذه الاتفاقية تعكس التزامهم بالابتكار، والاستدامة، والتطور التكنولوجي، كعناصر جوهرية أساسية في البطولة، كما تتماشى مع الرؤى الأوسع نحو توسيع نطاق المشاركة العالمية، وجعل رياضة المحركات أكثر شمولاً وسهولة للجميع.
