تأهل منتخبنا الوطني السعودي الأول للكرة الطائرة إلى الدور نصف النهائي في بطولة غرب آسيا، بعد فوزه القوي على منتخب الأردن بنتيجة 3/ 0 في اللقاء الذي أقيم بينهما في ربع نهائي البطولة على صالة الشيخ عيسى بن راشد بمملكة البحرين.
وشهد اللقاء أداء قوياً من المنتخبين لاسيما في الشوطين الأول والثالث، وحسمه نجوم الأخضر السعودي بجدارة واستحقاق، وجاءت نتائج الأشواط كالتالي: 26ـ24، 25ـ20، 28ـ26.
وبهذه النتيجة يتأهل منتخبنا الوطني لنصف النهائي ليواجه شقيقه منتخب البحرين (مستضيف البطولة) الذي تجاوز نظيره منتخب الكويت بالنتيجة ذاتها (3/ 0).
كما سيلتقي منتخبا قطر وعمان في اللقاء الآخر لنصف النهائي، إذ تجاوز منتخب قطر نظيره منتخب لبنان بنتيجة 3/ 0، وبالنتيجة ذاتها تفوق منتخب عمان على نظيره منتخب الإمارات.

Our national Saudi volleyball team has qualified for the semifinals of the West Asian Championship after a strong victory over the Jordanian team with a score of 3/0 in the quarterfinal match held between them at the Sheikh Isa bin Rashid Hall in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The match witnessed a strong performance from both teams, especially in the first and third sets, which the stars of the Saudi Green team decisively won. The set scores were as follows: 26-24, 25-20, 28-26.
With this result, our national team qualifies for the semifinals to face its brother team from Bahrain (the tournament host), which overcame its counterpart from Kuwait with the same score (3/0).
The teams of Qatar and Oman will also meet in the other semifinal match, as the Qatari team defeated its counterpart from Lebanon with a score of 3/0, and with the same result, the Omani team triumphed over its counterpart from the UAE.
