وزارة الرياضة تنقل أعمال لجنة الاستدامة المالية إلى رابطة «روشن»

The Ministry of Sports announced today a package of developmental steps in the financial operational system for sports clubs in the Kingdom, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance financial stability and improve administrative efficiency by applying best practices and professional standards in financial governance.

The announced steps included the transfer of the Financial Sustainability Committee's operations from the Ministry of Sports to the Saudi Professional League under the name "Financial Oversight Committee," starting from July 1, 2025; with the aim of unifying and simplifying regulatory procedures, and enabling the clubs of the Roshen Saudi Professional League to meet all requirements related to financial regulations, ensuring clarity of roles, speed of achievement, and elevating the institutional work level of the clubs, especially concerning the settlement of financial obligations and the development of administrative systems using professional methods.

The ministry also announced the continuation of the Financial Efficiency Committee's work according to a new operational mechanism, which includes clubs from the Roshen Saudi Professional League across all sports (excluding football), in addition to clubs from the First Division Professional League "Yelo" in all its sports activities; aiming to enhance the principles of financial governance and achieve balance and financial stability within the clubs.

In this context, the Ministry of Sports launched the "Improving Financial Performance of Clubs" project, which aims to support financial sustainability in the sports sector, focusing on monitoring the financial situation of 16 clubs from the Yelo League, 32 clubs from the Second Division, in addition to the four clubs relegated to the Third Division in the 2024-2025 season, and one other club previously added in the same division, starting from the 2025-2026 sports season.

The project relies on monitoring the implementation of approved budget estimates, controlling operational expenses, and rationalizing expenditures, which contributes to limiting the emergence of any future financial obligations and enhances the clubs' ability to achieve financial stability and sustainable development in a more professional environment.

These developmental steps reflect the Ministry of Sports' commitment to enabling clubs to operate within an integrated and stable financial system, contributing to the development of the sports sector and enhancing its sustainability in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 in building a professional sports environment based on governance, transparency, and sustainability.
