أعرب قائد فريق مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي برناردو سيلفا، عن حزنه لانتهاء مشوار الفريق في كأس العالم للأندية 2025، بعد الخسارة أمام الهلال.
وحقق الهلال فوزًا تاريخيًا على مانشستر سيتي بأربعة أهداف مقابل ثلاثة، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، ليضرب موعدًا مع فلومينينسي البرازيلي، يوم الجمعة القادم، في الدور ربع النهائي.
وقال قائد السيتي في تصريحات نشرها موقع ناديه: «دخلنا هذه البطولة بطموح كبير، وكنا نرغب في الوصول إلى مراحل متقدمة، وأعتقد أن الفريق قدم أداءً جيدًا، لذا نشعر بخيبة أمل».
وأضاف: «نحن نلعب من أجل التتويج بالبطولات، وعندما لا نحقق ذلك، نشعر دائمًا بالإحباط، لأن هذا لا يكفينا».
تابع: «لكن اللاعبين داخل غرفة الملابس يدركون أننا نتطور، وأن هناك تحسنًا ملحوظًا».
وأضاف: «بدأنا نشعر بعودة الروح الجماعية، وأجواء غرفة الملابس، والحماس، وحتى في طريقة لعبنا؛ أعتقد أننا نحرز تقدمًا».
واختتم حديثه قائلًا: «لسنا راضين تمامًا بعد الهزيمة أمام الهلال، لأننا كنا نرغب في تحقيق نتائج أفضل، لكننا بدأنا نستعيد الطاقة الإيجابية التي نحتاجها للعودة إلى مستوانا الحقيقي».
The captain of the English Manchester City team, Bernardo Silva, expressed his sadness over the team's exit from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup after losing to Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal achieved a historic victory over Manchester City with a score of four goals to three today (Tuesday), setting up a match against Brazilian Fluminense next Friday in the quarter-finals.
In statements published by his club's website, the City captain said: "We entered this tournament with great ambition, and we wanted to reach advanced stages. I believe the team performed well, so we feel disappointed."
He added: "We play to win trophies, and when we don't achieve that, we always feel frustrated because that's not enough for us."
He continued: "But the players in the dressing room realize that we are evolving and that there is noticeable improvement."
He added: "We are starting to feel the return of team spirit, the atmosphere in the dressing room, the enthusiasm, and even in the way we play; I believe we are making progress."
He concluded his remarks by saying: "We are not completely satisfied after the loss to Al-Hilal because we wanted to achieve better results, but we are starting to regain the positive energy we need to return to our true level."
