حقق مدرب الهلال الإيطالي سيموني إنزاغي تعادله الأول كمدرب أمام سالزبورغ النمساوي بعد 4 مواجهات سابقة، جميعها على الصعيد القاري. وكان أول لقاءات المدرب العالمي أمام الفريق النمساوي عندما كان يقود لاتسيو الإيطالي عام 2018 حينها حقق الفوز 4-2 خلال مواجهة الذهاب، وفي لقاء الإياب بين الفريقين الذي أقيم بالنمسا نجح سالزبورغ في هزيمة لاتسيو بنتيجة 4-1، وخرج لاتسيو بقيادة إنزاغي من الدور ربع النهائي.
وفي عام 2023 التقى إنزاغي سالزبورغ النمساوي من جديد بعد 5 سنوات من الإقصاء الأوروبي، لكن هذه المرة كان يقود فريق إنتر ميلان، ونجح في رد الثأر بعد أن التقى إنتر وسالزبورغ في دور مجموعات دوري أبطال أوروبا، ونجح إنزاغي في الفوز في المباراتين 2ـ1 و1ـ0.
