أكد مدرب فريق ريد بول سالزبورغ توماس ليتش بعد تعادل فريقه أمام الهلال أن فريقه دخل المباراة باحثاً عن تحقيق النقاط الثلاث، «لكن الهلال فاجأنا بالضغط المتواصل ما جعلنا نتراجع للخلف وإغلاق المناطق الدفاعية بشكل جيد. وبسبب لعب الهلال غيرنا خطتنا إلى 5-3-2 بهدف إغلاق جميع المساحات التي قد يستفيد منها الهلال بالزج بعدد كبير من اللاعبين داخل منطقة الجزاء».
وعن التغييرات التي أجراها خلال المباراة قال: «حققنا الأهم؛ لأنها أضافت للفريق الشيء الكثير على المستوى الفني، وهذا يدل على أننا لا نعتمد على 11 لاعباً فقط، فالاحتياط بمثابة اللاعب الأساسي».
وعن المباراة القادمة أمام ريال مدريد قال: «أحترم قدرات المدرب تشابي ألونسو كمدرب، وأحترم جودة لاعبيه، لكننا سندخل الملعب للفوز وصنع الفارق».
