أعرب الشيخ سلمان آل خليفة رئيس الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم عن ثقته في إمكانات الفرق الآسيوية الأربعة المشاركة في بطولة كأس العالم للأندية FIFA، التي انطلقت السبت الماضي في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، بمشاركة 32 فريقاً.
وقال الشيخ سلمان: «بالنيابة عن أسرة كرة القدم الآسيوية، أود أن أعرب عن أطيب تمنياتنا لأنديتنا الأربعة الممثلة، وكذلك لجميع حكام مباريات الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم المشاركين في كأس العالم للأندية FIFA الموسعة حديثاً، لقد أثبتت فرقنا الآسيوية باستمرار قدرتها على المنافسة على أعلى المستويات، وأنا واثق من أنها ستواصل تجسيد رؤية الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم للنجاح على الساحة العالمية».
ويشارك في البطولة 4 أندية من قارة آسيا، وهي: الهلال السعودي، والعين الإماراتي، وأولسان الكوري الجنوبي، وأوراوا ريد دايموندز الياباني، إذ ستقام 63 مباراة في 12 ملعباً في 11 مدينة مضيفة في الولايات المتحدة، وستلعب المباراة النهائية على ملعب ميتلايف في نيوجيرسي في 13 يوليو 2025.
وسجلت الأندية الآسيوية إنجازات كبيرة خلال مشاركاتها السابقة في كأس العالم للأندية FIFA، إذ حقق الهلال 2022 والعين 2018 وكاشيما أنتلرز 2016 أفضل أداء للقارة بالفوز بميدالية الوصيف في ثلاث مناسبات.
ويستهل أوراوا ريد دايموندز، بطل دوري أبطال آسيا 2022، مشواره ضمن المجموعة الخامسة بمواجهة ريفر بليت الأرجنتيني اليوم على ملعب لومين في سياتل، ثم يواجه بطل آسيا ثلاث مرات نظيره الإيطالي إنتر ميلان في نفس المكان يوم 21 يونيو، تليه مواجهة مع مونتيري المكسيكي، بطل كأس أبطال الكونكاكاف 2024، على ملعب روز بول في لوس أنجلوس بعد أربعة أيام.
فيما يخوض أولسان الكوري الجنوبي منافسات البطولة ضمن المجموعة السادسة، إذ يستهل مشواره اليوم بمواجهة ماميلودي صن داونز الجنوب أفريقي، العائد إلى بطولات FIFA لأول مرة منذ ما يقرب من 10 سنوات، وذلك على ملعب إنتر آند كو في أورلاندو، في فلوريدا، وسيواجه بطل القارة مرتين، الذي يستعد لمشاركته الثالثة على الساحة العالمية، وصيف كأس العالم للأندية FIFA 2023، نادي فلومينينسي البرازيلي، على ملعب ميتلايف بعد أربعة أيام، قبل أن يواجه بوروسيا دورتموند الألماني، وصيف دوري أبطال أوروبا 2023/2024، في 25 يونيو على ملعب تي كيو إل في سينسيناتي، أوهايو.
وسيفتتح العين الإماراتي مشواره في البطولة ضد يوفنتوس الإيطالي، لحساب المجموعة السابعة على ملعب أودي في واشنطن، ثم يلتقي مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي، في ملعب مرسيدس بنز بأتلانتا يوم (22) يونيو، وسيواجه الفريق الإماراتي بطل آسيا مرتين نظيره الوداد المغربي، الفائز بدوري أبطال أفريقيا ثلاث مرات وذلك يوم 26 يونيو.
وأخيراً، من المقرر أن يلتقي الهلال السعودي، بطل آسيا أربع مرات، نظيره ريال مدريد الإسباني، بطل أوروبا 15 مرة، وبطل العالم خمس مرات، على ملعب هارد روك في ميامي، يوم 18 يونيو، ثم سيواجه نادي سالزبورغ النمساوي في 22 يونيو على ملعب أودي في واشنطن العاصمة، قبل أن يختتم مباريات دور المجموعات ضد باتشوكا المكسيكي، بطل كأس أبطال الكونكاكاف ست مرات، على ملعب جيوديس بارك في ناشفيل بتينيسي في 26 يونيو.

Sheikh Salman Al Khalifa, the President of the Asian Football Confederation, expressed his confidence in the capabilities of the four Asian teams participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, which kicked off last Saturday in the United States with the participation of 32 teams.
Sheikh Salman said: "On behalf of the Asian football family, I would like to extend our best wishes to our four represented clubs, as well as to all the referees from the Asian Football Confederation participating in the newly expanded FIFA Club World Cup. Our Asian teams have consistently proven their ability to compete at the highest levels, and I am confident that they will continue to embody the AFC's vision for success on the global stage."
Four clubs from Asia are participating in the tournament: Al Hilal from Saudi Arabia, Al Ain from the UAE, Ulsan from South Korea, and Urawa Red Diamonds from Japan. A total of 63 matches will be held in 12 stadiums across 11 host cities in the United States, with the final match taking place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 13, 2025.
Asian clubs have recorded significant achievements during their previous participations in the FIFA Club World Cup, with Al Hilal in 2022, Al Ain in 2018, and Kashima Antlers in 2016 achieving the best performance for the continent by winning the runner-up medal on three occasions.
Urawa Red Diamonds, the 2022 AFC Champions League champion, will kick off their journey in Group E against Argentina's River Plate today at Lumen Field in Seattle. They will then face three-time Asian champions Inter Milan in the same venue on June 21, followed by a match against Monterrey from Mexico, the 2024 CONCACAF Champions Cup champion, at Rose Bowl in Los Angeles four days later.
Meanwhile, Ulsan from South Korea will compete in Group F, starting their campaign today against South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns, returning to FIFA tournaments for the first time in nearly 10 years, at the Inter & Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida. They will face the two-time continental champion, preparing for their third global appearance, Fluminense from Brazil, the runner-up of the FIFA Club World Cup 2023, at MetLife Stadium four days later, before meeting Borussia Dortmund from Germany, the runner-up of the 2023/2024 UEFA Champions League, on June 25 at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The UAE's Al Ain will begin their tournament journey against Italian Juventus in Group G at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., then meet English Manchester City at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on June 22. The Emirati team will face the two-time Asian champion Wydad Casablanca from Morocco, who has won the African Champions League three times, on June 26.
Finally, Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, a four-time Asian champion, is scheduled to meet Spain's Real Madrid, a 15-time European champion and five-time world champion, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on June 18. They will then face Austrian Salzburg on June 22 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., before concluding their group stage matches against Mexican Pachuca, a six-time CONCACAF Champions Cup champion, at Geodis Park in Nashville, Tennessee on June 26.
