اجتمع ممثلو اللجنة المنظمة لبطولة الكأس الذهبية 2025، ببعثة المنتخب السعودي في مقر إقامتها بمدينة سان دييغو الأمريكية، ورحّبت اللجنة في مستهل الاجتماع ببعثة «الأخضر» بمناسبة مشاركتها الأولى في البطولة، التي تنطلق غدا (الأحد) في الولايات المتحدة وكندا، وتستمر حتى السادس من يوليو القادم، متمنية أن تكون نسخة مميزة بمشاركة المنتخب السعودي، وخلال الاجتماع، تم تسليم قائد المنتخب الوطني «حسن كادش» درع المشاركة في الكأس الذهبية 2025، كما تم تسليم لاعبي «الأخضر» ميداليات تذكارية للبطولة،عقب ذلك، عُقدت ورشة عمل للاعبين برفقة الأجهزة الإدارية والفنية والطبية، وتركزت على الجوانب التحكيمية واللوائح المتبعة في البطولة.
يذكر أن «الكأس الذهبية» ستكون بمثابة فرصة تنافسية عالية لأفضل منتخبات المنطقة، كما ستعطي الفرصة لمزيد من المشجعين للتفاعل مع كرة القدم، وزيادة شعبية اللعبة في أمريكا الشمالية وأمريكا الوسطى ومنطقة الكاريبي، قبل عام من انطلاق نهائيات كأس العالم 2026 في الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك، ذ تشهد النسخة الثامنة عشرة من الكأس الذهبية، مشاركة أفضل 15 منتخبا من منطقة «كونكاكاف»، والتي تأهلت جميعها من خلال أحدث نسخة من دوري أمم كونكاكاف أو تصفيات الكأس الذهبية 2025، إلى جانب المنتخب السعودي، وتضم المجموعة الأولى منتخبات المكسيك وكوستاريكا وسورينام وجمهورية الدومينيكان، وتضم المجموعة الثانية منتخبات كندا وهندوراس والسلفادور وكوراساو، والثالثة منتخبات بنما وجامايكا وغواتيمالا وغوادلوب، وتتواجد في المجموعة الرابعة منتخبات الولايات المتحدة وهايتي وترينيداد وتوباغو والسعودية، وينص نظام البطولة على تأهل أصحاب المركزين الأول والثاني بكل مجموعة من المجموعات الأربع إلى دور الثمانية، وتقام مواجهات دور المجموعات خلال الفترة من 15 إلى 24 يونيو، ثم دور الثمانية بين 28 إلى 29 يونيو ثم المربع الذهبي يوم الثاني من يوليو وصولا للمباراة النهائية يوم السادس من يوليو.
يذكر أن الكأس الذهبية أقيمت 17 مرة سابقة، وتملك المكسيك رقما قياسيا في عدد ألقاب البطولة بتسعة ألقاب، تليها الولايات المتحدة بسبعة ألقاب، وكندا بلقب وحيد.

The representatives of the organizing committee for the 2025 Gold Cup met with the Saudi national team delegation at their residence in San Diego, USA. The committee welcomed the "Green" delegation at the beginning of the meeting, celebrating their first participation in the tournament, which kicks off tomorrow (Sunday) in the United States and Canada and will continue until July 6. They expressed hope that this edition would be special with the participation of the Saudi team. During the meeting, the captain of the national team, "Hassan Kadsh," was presented with a participation plaque for the 2025 Gold Cup, and the players of the "Green" were given commemorative medals for the tournament. Following that, a workshop was held for the players along with the administrative, technical, and medical staff, focusing on the refereeing aspects and the regulations followed in the tournament.
It is worth mentioning that the "Gold Cup" will serve as a high-level competitive opportunity for the best teams in the region, as it will also provide more fans the chance to engage with football and increase the popularity of the game in North America, Central America, and the Caribbean, a year before the start of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The eighteenth edition of the Gold Cup will feature the best 15 teams from the "CONCACAF" region, all of which qualified through the latest edition of the CONCACAF Nations League or the qualifiers for the 2025 Gold Cup, alongside the Saudi team. Group A includes teams from Mexico, Costa Rica, Suriname, and the Dominican Republic, while Group B includes teams from Canada, Honduras, El Salvador, and Curaçao. Group C consists of teams from Panama, Jamaica, Guatemala, and Guadeloupe, and Group D features teams from the United States, Haiti, Trinidad and Tobago, and Saudi Arabia. The tournament system stipulates that the top two teams from each of the four groups will qualify for the quarter-finals. The group stage matches will take place from June 15 to June 24, followed by the quarter-finals on June 28 and 29, and the semi-finals on July 2, leading up to the final match on July 6.
It is noteworthy that the Gold Cup has been held 17 times previously, with Mexico holding the record for the most titles, having won nine championships, followed by the United States with seven titles, and Canada with one title.
