قرر المنتخب المكسيكي لكرة القدم تغيير فندقه في مدينة لوس أنجلوس قبل مباراته الافتتاحية في بطولة كأس الكونكاكاف الذهبية أمام منتخب الدومينيكان، المقررة يوم السبت القادم، وذلك بسبب مخاوف أمنية ناجمة عن احتجاجات ضد حملات الهجرة في وسط المدينة.
وأكد المتحدث باسم المنتخب، فرناندو شوارتز، لوكالة «أسوشيتد برس» أن اتحاد «كونكاكاف» وافق على تغيير الفندق، إذ سيُقيم الفريق في منطقة لونغ بيتش بدلاً من وسط لوس أنجلوس لتفادي أي توتر محتمل.
ولم يصدر «كونكاكاف» بياناً رسميّاً حول القرار حتى الآن.
ومن المقرر أن يتوجه المنتخب المكسيكي بعد مواجهة الدومينيكان إلى أرلينغتون بولاية تكساس لملاقاة سورينام، قبل أن يختتم مبارياته في دور المجموعات بمواجهة كوستاريكا في لاس فيغاس.
يذكر أن كأس الكونكاكاف تشهد في هذه النسخة مشاركة المنتخب السعودي في مجموعة تضم إلى جانبه منتخب الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية ومنتخب هايتي ومنتخب ترينيداد وتوباجو.

The Mexican national football team has decided to change its hotel in Los Angeles before its opening match in the CONCACAF Gold Cup against the Dominican Republic, scheduled for next Saturday, due to security concerns arising from protests against immigration campaigns in the downtown area.
The team's spokesperson, Fernando Schwartz, confirmed to the Associated Press that the CONCACAF federation approved the hotel change, as the team will stay in the Long Beach area instead of downtown Los Angeles to avoid any potential tension.
CONCACAF has not yet issued an official statement regarding the decision.
