تأهلت البرازيل والإكوادور إلى نهائيات كأس العالم لكرة القدم 2026، بعد حصولهما على ثاني وثالث المقاعد المؤهلة إلى البطولة من بين ستة مقاعد مباشرة لأمريكا الجنوبية، بعدما تأهلت الأرجنتين حاملة اللقب في مارس الماضي.
وفازت البرازيل 1-0 على ضيفتها باراجواي، وتعادلت الإكوادور سلبياً مع بيرو، ليرفع الفريقان رصيدهما إلى 25 نقطة بفارق سبع نقاط عن فنزويلا صاحبة المركز السابع مع تبقي جولتين على نهاية التصفيات، وتحتل أوروجواي وباراجواي ولهما 24 نقطة وكولومبيا التي حصدت 22 نقطة، المراكز الثلاثة المتبقية المؤهلة إلى كأس العالم قبل آخر جولتين في سبتمبر المقبل.
وستحصل فنزويلا على مكان في الملحق العالمي ضد فريق من اتحاد قاري آخر إذا أنهت التصفيات في المركز السابع.
وفي ساو باولو، سجّل مهاجم ريال مدريد فينيسيوس جونيور هدفاً في اللحظات الأخيرة من الشوط الأول، ليمنح مدرب البرازيل الجديد كارلو أنشيلوتي الانتصار في أول مباراة للفريق على أرضه تحت قيادته.
وعززت البرازيل رقمها القياسي بصفتها الفريق الوحيد الذي شارك في كل نسخ كأس العالم، إذ من المقرر أن يشارك الفائز باللقب خمس مرات في النسخة 23 من كأس العالم في الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك، وتأهلت الإكوادور إلى كأس العالم للمرة الثانية توالياً بعدما تجنبت الخسارة في بيرو.
وأنهى التعادل آمال بيرو في التأهل بعدما رفعت رصيدها إلى 12 نقطة بفارق ست نقاط عن فنزويلا، وفي وقت سابق، اقتربت أوروجواي من ضمان التأهل إلى كأس العالم بالفوز 2-0 على ضيفتها فنزويلا في ملعب سينتيناريو، لتنهي مسيرة من أربع مباريات دون انتصار في تصفيات أمريكا الجنوبية المؤهلة لكأس العالم، وتحتاج أوروجواي إلى نقطة واحدة فقط من آخر مباراتين ضد بيرو وتشيلي لتتأهل إلى كأس العالم.
واحتاجت الأرجنتين إلى هدف من تياجو ألمادا في الدقيقة 81 لتفرض التعادل 1-1 على كولومبيا التي تقدمت عن طريق لويس دياز، لتتجنب الخسارة الثانية توالياً أمام فريق المدرب نيستور لورينسو، وانتهت آمال تشيلي في التأهل إلى كأس العالم بالخسارة 2-0 أمام بوليفيا، وتتأهل أول 6 منتخبات في تصفيات أمريكا الجنوبية بشكل مباشر للمونديال.

Brazil and Ecuador have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, securing the second and third qualifying spots for the tournament among six direct slots for South America, after Argentina, the defending champions, qualified last March.
Brazil won 1-0 against their visitors Paraguay, and Ecuador drew 0-0 with Peru, bringing both teams' points total to 25, seven points ahead of Venezuela in seventh place, with two rounds remaining in the qualifiers. Uruguay and Paraguay, both with 24 points, and Colombia, which has 22 points, occupy the remaining three spots qualifying for the World Cup before the last two rounds in September.
Venezuela will secure a place in the global playoff against a team from another continental federation if they finish the qualifiers in seventh place.
