أعلن صندوق الاستثمارات العامة والاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم «فيفا»، انضمام الصندوق كشريك رسمي لبطولة كأس العالم للأندية FIFA 2025، التي ستقام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في الفترة من 14 يونيو حتى 13 يوليو.
وتُجسد الشراكة الجديدة الرؤية المشتركة للصندوق والفيفا في تعزيز قطاع الرياضة، عبر إطلاق فرص جديدة وتشجيع الابتكار والتواصل مع الجماهير الرياضية حول العالم. وستركز الشراكة على إتاحة المزيد من الفرص للشباب، ودعم جهود الفيفا لإلهام الأجيال الجديدة وزيادة مشاركتها.
وستشهد بطولة كأس العالم للأندية FIFA 2025، تحولًا جديدًا في مسيرة كرة القدم للأندية والفرق، وستجمع للمرة الأولى (32) من أفضل أندية كرة القدم في العالم، تمثّل الاتحادات القارية الستة التابعة للفيفا، للتنافس على مدار شهر كامل في (11) مدينة مختلفة عبر أنحاء الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.
وتُعّد كرة القدم الرياضة الشعبية الأولى في المملكة والعالم، وسيتابع الجمهور السعودي البطولة التي يشارك فيها نادي الهلال ممثلًا عن قارّة آسيا، بعد أن حجز مكانه ضمن المقاعد الأربعة المخصصة للاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم في البطولة، من خلال الفوز بدوري أبطال آسيا 2021.
وبهذه المناسبة قال المدير التنفيذي للأعمال لدى فيفا رومي جاي: «إن كأس العالم للأندية FIFA 2025 سيجمع (32) فريقًا للمرة الأولى، ونجتمع مع شركائنا في هذه البطولة لمواصلة الارتقاء بكرة القدم عالميًا»، مشيرًا إلى أن هذا الدعم للبطولة هو جزء لا يتجزأ من نجاحها، وسيؤكد أهمية الاستثمارات في دعم تطوير كرة القدم للأندية في كل مكان.
من جانبه، أفاد مدير إدارة الهوية المؤسسية في صندوق الاستثمارات العامة محمد الصياد، أن الصندوق سيواصل من خلال شراكاته ورعاياته في إحداث تحوّل إيجابي مستدام في القطاع الرياضي على جميع المستويات، من لاعبين ومشجعين، إضافة إلى الدول المستضيفة للفعاليات الرياضية.
وقال: «يتصدر الصندوق اليوم الجهود الهادفة لتعزيز نمو رياضة كرة القدم حول العالم، ومن ذلك الشراكة التي عقدها الصندوق مع اتحاد (كونكاكاف) لكرة القدم العام الماضي، إضافة لملكيته لعدد من الأندية الرياضية، ودوره المستمر في إطلاق الفرص التي تتيح نمو الرياضة في جميع أنحاء العالم».
واختيرت المملكة لاستضافة كأس العالم لكرة القدم FIFA 2034، تماشيًا مع التحوّل الذي تشهده على مختلف الأصعدة، ومن ذلك رياضة كرة القدم، وستعزز كأس العالم المرتقبة جهود المملكة لدفع تطور اللعبة محليًا وعالميًا لأجيال عديدة قادمة.
وتقام بطولة كأس العالم للأندية FIFA 2025 في (12) استادًا رياضيًا موزعة على (11) مدينة أمريكية، وتُختتم البطولة -المكونة من (63) مباراة- بلقاء نهائي مشوّق على ملعب ميتلايف في إيست روثرفورد، في نيويورك نيوجيرسي، يوم الأحد 13 يوليو القادم، سيشهد تتويج بطل عالم جديد للأندية.

The Public Investment Fund and the International Football Federation (FIFA) announced the Fund's joining as an official partner for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
This new partnership embodies the shared vision of the Fund and FIFA in enhancing the sports sector by launching new opportunities and encouraging innovation while connecting with sports fans around the world. The partnership will focus on providing more opportunities for youth and supporting FIFA's efforts to inspire new generations and increase their participation.
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will witness a new transformation in the journey of club football, bringing together for the first time (32) of the best football clubs in the world, representing FIFA's six continental federations, to compete over a full month in (11) different cities across the United States.
Football is the most popular sport in the Kingdom and the world, and Saudi fans will follow the tournament in which Al Hilal Club represents Asia, after securing its place among the four spots allocated to the Asian Football Confederation in the tournament by winning the AFC Champions League 2021.
On this occasion, FIFA's Chief Business Officer, Romy Jay, stated: "The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will bring together (32) teams for the first time, and we are gathering with our partners in this tournament to continue elevating football globally," noting that this support for the tournament is an integral part of its success and will emphasize the importance of investments in supporting the development of club football everywhere.
For his part, the Director of Corporate Identity at the Public Investment Fund, Mohammed Al Sayad, indicated that the Fund will continue, through its partnerships and sponsorships, to create a sustainable positive transformation in the sports sector at all levels, from players and fans to the host countries of sporting events.
He said: "The Fund is leading efforts aimed at enhancing the growth of football worldwide today, including the partnership the Fund established with the Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) last year, in addition to its ownership of several sports clubs and its ongoing role in launching opportunities that allow the growth of sports around the world."
The Kingdom has been chosen to host the FIFA World Cup 2034, in line with the transformation it is witnessing on various fronts, including football, and the upcoming World Cup will enhance the Kingdom's efforts to drive the development of the game locally and globally for many generations to come.
The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 will take place in (12) sports stadiums distributed across (11) American cities, and the tournament - consisting of (63) matches - will conclude with an exciting final match at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday, July 13, which will witness the crowning of a new world club champion.
