طالبت جماهير الاتحاد باستمرار مهاجم الفريق الكروي الأول النيجيري جورج إلينيخينا، وعدم التفريط فيه خلال فترة الانتقالات الصيفية الحالية.
ووجهت رسالة لمسؤولي النادي بأن المهاجم جورج إلينيخينا خط أحمر، خصوصاً أنه في كل مباراة يشارك تكون له بصمة تهديفية جميلة، وهو ضالة العميد في خط الهجوم.
وواصل جورج تألقه مع الفريق الاتحادي في الموسم الحالي، ونجح في افتتاح أهدافه عبر شباك فريق القادسية، وأسهم في تحقيق العميد 3 نقاط ثمينة ضمن مباريات الجولة الثانية من دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين.
وجاء الهدف الذي أحرزه في مرمى فريق القادسية بعد خوضه مباراتين في النصف الثاني من دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين الموسم الماضي، ونجح قبل ذلك بتسجيل هدفين مع الفريق الاتحادي في مباراته أمام النجمة، ضمن الدور الـ32 من منافسات كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين، وساهم في انتصار العميد بنتيجة 3-0، والتأهل لمواجهة فريق الجبلين في دور الـ16 بالمسابقة.
يذكر أن نادي الاتحاد تعاقد مع جورج إلينيخينا مطلع العام الحالي بعقد حتى صيف 2029.
