أجرى فريق الاتحاد الأول لكرة القدم مرانه الأخير في معسكره الإعدادي في البرتغال لينهي المعسكر الذي بدأه في إسبانيا ومن ثم البرتغال وذلك استعداداً للموسم الرياضي الجديد.
وشهد المعسكر خوض الفريق سلسلة من التدريبات المكثفة والتمارين اللياقية الجادة ولعب 5 مباريات ودية وذلك لرفع المستوى البدني والفني للاعبين قبل خوض منافسات كأس السوبر السعودي.
وكان المعسكر الإعدادي للفريق الاتحادي قد بدأ يوم 14 يوليو الماضي في مدينة جيرونا الإسبانية واستدعى المدرب الفرنسي بلان لوران 19 لاعباً لتجهيزهم للموسم الرياضي القادم، وخاض الفريق 5 مواجهات في معسكره الإعدادي في البرتغال، وكانت أولى لقاءاته الودية أمام فريق فنربخشة التركي وخسره الاتحاد بأربعة أهداف دون مقابل، ومن ثم واجه الاتحاد فريق فيتوريا جيماريش البرتغالي وخسره الاتحاد بنتيجة 3/ 1، وفي ثالث لقاءاته واجه فولهام الإنجليزي الذي انتصر على الاتحاد بنتيجة 4/ 2، وفي اللقاء الرابع لعب الاتحاد بالفريق الثاني أمام بورتيمونينسي وخسر 2/ 1، وفي آخر لقاءاته الودية انتصر الاتحاد على فريق اونياو دي ليريا البرتغالي بنتيجة 5/ 1 وأحرز أهداف الاتحاد كل من: ستيفن بيرجوين، سعد آل موسى، عبدالرحمن العبود، صالح الشهري، فيصل الغامدي.
وخلال المعسكر استبعد المدرب الفرنسي 6 لاعبين، هم: طلال حاجي وعدنان البشري ونواف الجدعاني ومحمد هزازي والثنائي الأجنبي ماتيو بوريل واسياس رودريغيز؛ وذلك للانضمام مع فريق الاتحاد تحت 21 عاماً.
من جهة أخرى، يواصل نادي الاتحاد مهمة البحث عن ظهيرين للفريق الأول بعد استبعاد فواز الصقور وإصابة حسن كادش، وتسعى الإدارة لتوفير متطلبات المدرب بلان قبل خوض غمار كأس السوبر السعودي، إذ سيلاقي الاتحاد حامل لقبي دوري روشن السعودي وكأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين نظيره فريق النصر ثالث دوري المحترفين وذلك يوم 19 أغسطس.

The first team of Al-Ittihad Football Club conducted its final training session in its preparatory camp in Portugal, concluding the camp that began in Spain and then moved to Portugal in preparation for the new sports season.
The camp witnessed the team undergoing a series of intensive training sessions and serious fitness exercises, as well as playing 5 friendly matches to enhance the physical and technical levels of the players before entering the Saudi Super Cup competitions.
The preparatory camp for the Al-Ittihad team started on July 14 in the Spanish city of Girona, and the French coach Laurent Blanc called up 19 players to prepare them for the upcoming sports season. The team played 5 matches during its preparatory camp in Portugal, with its first friendly match against the Turkish team Fenerbahçe, which Al-Ittihad lost 4-0. Then, Al-Ittihad faced the Portuguese team Vitória Guimarães, losing the match 3-1. In its third match, Al-Ittihad faced the English team Fulham, which defeated them 4-2. In the fourth match, Al-Ittihad played with the second team against Portimonense and lost 2-1. In its last friendly match, Al-Ittihad won against the Portuguese team União de Leiria with a score of 5-1, with goals scored by: Steven Bergwijn, Saad Al-Mousa, Abdulrahman Al-Aboud, Saleh Al-Shehri, and Faisal Al-Ghamdi.
During the camp, the French coach excluded 6 players: Talal Haji, Adnan Al-Bushari, Nawaf Al-Jadani, Mohammed Hazzazi, and the foreign duo Matteo Boreal and Asias Rodriguez, to join the Al-Ittihad under-21 team.
On another note, Al-Ittihad Club continues its search for two full-backs for the first team after the exclusion of Fawaz Al-Suqour and the injury of Hassan Kadsh. The management is working to meet the requirements of coach Blanc before entering the Saudi Super Cup, where Al-Ittihad will face the holders of the Roshan Saudi League and King Abdulaziz Cup, Al-Nassr, on August 19.
