يخوض المنتخب السعودي للكرة الطائرة مواجهة حاسمة في طريقه إلى نهائي بطولة غرب آسيا، عندما يلتقي نظيره البحريني «المستضيف» على صالة الشيخ عيسى بن راشد بمدينة الرفاع، مساء اليوم الجمعة.
وتُعد هذه المواجهة من أصعب محطات الأخضر في مشواره، عطفاً على المنتخب البحريني المرشح للقب والذي تمكن من تجاوز المنتخب الكويتي بنتيجة 3/ 0، فيما تطور أداء منتخبنا الوطني السعودي في البطولة تدريجياً فبعد خسارة اللقاء الافتتاحي أمام قطر بنتيجة 0/ 3، وخسر بعدها من المنتخب الكويتي بنتيجة 2/ 3، تمكن نجوم الأخضر من تحقيق الانتصار في آخر لقاءات المجموعة على حساب منتخب عمان بنتيجة 3/ 0، ليتأهل لربع نهائي المسابقة ويلاقي منتخب الأردن، واستطاع لاعبو المنتخب السعودي من مواصلة تألقهم وتفوقوا بنتيجة 3/ 0، ليتأهل منتخبنا لنصف النهائي ويضرب موعداً مع نظيره المنتخب البحريني في لقاء لن يقبل القسمة على اثنين، ورغم قوة المنتخب البحريني إلا إن نجوم الأخضر قادرون على الفوز والتأهل للنهائي المرتقب.
من جهة أخرى، أنهى الأخضر السعودي تحضيراته يوم أمس (الخميس) على صالة عالي بمشاركة جميع اللاعبين، حيث ركّز الجهاز الفني على الجوانب الذهنية، والتدرب على حوائط الصد والإرسالات القوية وتم شرح نقاط الضعف في المنتخب البحريني.
ويسبق لقاء السعودية والبحرين مواجهة نصف النهائي الأخرى بين المنتخب القطري والمنتخب العماني عند الـ 05:00 مساءً، علمًا أن الفريقين التقيا في الدور التمهيدي وانتهى اللقاء لصالح قطر بنتيجة 3/ 1 وكانا في مجموعة منتخبنا الوطني.

The Saudi national volleyball team is facing a decisive match on its way to the final of the West Asian Championship, as it meets its Bahraini counterpart, the "host," at the Sheikh Isa bin Rashid Hall in the city of Riffa, this evening, Friday.
This match is considered one of the toughest stages for the Green team in its journey, especially given the Bahraini team, which is a title contender and managed to overcome the Kuwaiti team with a score of 3/0. Meanwhile, the performance of our national Saudi team has gradually improved in the tournament; after losing the opening match against Qatar with a score of 0/3, and then losing to the Kuwaiti team with a score of 2/3, the stars of the Green team managed to achieve victory in their last group match against the Oman team with a score of 3/0, qualifying for the quarter-finals where they faced the Jordan team. The Saudi players continued to shine and excelled with a score of 3/0, allowing our team to reach the semi-finals and set up a meeting with the Bahraini team in a match that cannot be divided. Despite the strength of the Bahraini team, the stars of the Green are capable of winning and qualifying for the anticipated final.
On another note, the Saudi Green team completed its preparations yesterday (Thursday) at the Ali Hall with the participation of all players, where the coaching staff focused on mental aspects, practicing blocking walls and powerful serves, and explained the weaknesses in the Bahraini team.
Before the Saudi-Bahrain match, there is another semi-final match between the Qatari team and the Omani team at 5:00 PM, noting that the two teams met in the preliminary round, and the match ended in favor of Qatar with a score of 3/1, and they were in the same group as our national team.
